For Sale: 1969 Oldsmobile 442 in Concord, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

This 1969 Oldsmobile 442 convertible combines iconic bodylines with serious speed. It's a real-deal code-4467 convertible, which makes it rare. And so the numbers-matching 400ci V8 makes it even more desirable. And you get to enjoy this drop-top classic from the comfort of an A/C interior.

There are very few designs from this era that could say both "sporty" and "luxury" so well. This convertible has all the great dramatic curves, flared fenders, and a handsome front end that was instantly recognizable as being from GM's rocket division. All the details appear correct on this car from the 442 badging, to the trim line that starts at the headlights and follows the Coke-bottle silhouette all the way to the taillights. But there are also some cool upgrades. The upgrade to white paint later in life gives it some Hurst/Olds flavor, and the same vintage sporty attitude comes from the upgraded Cragar Eliminator wheels.

The black convertible top looks good against the creamy white exterior, but for true distinction, you're going to want to take it down. The factory-correct blue interior has a distinct style and vintage presentation. The textured bucket seats, door panels, and carpeting all feel quite stock and complete, so it's easy to share this car with family and friends. In fact, it's a loaded car with nice factory features like a power folding top and premium wood-like trim. These are met with nice upgrades like an AM/FM/CD stereo w/Bluetooth and air conditioning now blowing cold with R134a refrigerant. It's a car built for cruising, and so that's why you have a center console w/floor shift, tilt steering column, power steering, and full gauges with desirable tic-toc-tach.

Under the hood is exactly what you want to see. It's a numbers-matching 400 cubic-inch V8. It was given fresh block paint a few years ago to make sure you really get to see the special golden glow. And there are cool details, like the bold air grabber and Mickey Thompson finned valve covers. You have the Rochester four-barrel carburetor, and the power makes a great rumble as it exits out of the dual exhaust (Yup...400 cubic inches, four-barrel carburetor, and dual exhaust - the namesake of the 1969 Oldsmobile 4-4-2.) It's a strong runner, and the TH400 three-speed automatic transmission is a smooth shifter. Plus, you have strong features, like the 12-bolt rear end, boxed rear trailing arms, sway bars front & rear, and power brakes w/front discs.

You're looking at the perfect mix of a rare vintage cruising drop-top and adrenaline muscle machine. That's why we know a classic like this won't stay long in our showroom. Call now!
