Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is proud to feature this
absolutely beautiful 1966 Ford Thunderbird for sale on consignment
in our Arizona showroom, located in North Phoenix. Wow! This one
really makes heads turn. Ford's Thunderbird started out as an
American imitation of European sporty styling but by the 1960's
luxury-loaded, Jet Age inspired T-Birds like this one hit showroom
floors. 1966 models can be distinguished by the refreshed "egg
crate" grille and connected rear taillights. We might as well start
with the most desirable component on this Candy Apple Red 1966
Ford; the 428 CID V8 with 4bbl carburetor under the hood that was
an option for that year and provided around 345hp from the factory.
This vehicle was fully restored in 1998 incorporating the numbers
matching engine and 3-speed automatic transmission (according to
the seller), and it shows! The interior on this Thunderbird is a
fantastic feat of automotive design. Red vinyl seating for five is
comfortable and stylish. The swing-away steering column allows for
easy entrance and exit from the vehicle, and the ribbon-type
horizontal speedometer is very unique. Round gauges for fuel level,
water temperature, oil pressure and voltage keep you informed and
there's plenty of entertainment to choose from with the 8-Track
player/radio. Power windows provide convenience, air conditioning
offers comfort and the driver seat can be adjusted to the perfect
position with power controls. Just in case you were wondering
exactly now nice this car is, we have judging papers from the
Vintage Thunderbird Club that gave it a 295 out of 300 meaning
this '66 has minor flaws at the very most. We even have a copy of
the original sales invoice from Coberly Ford in Los Angeles,
California. If you're looking for a car that's truly a work of art
as well as a collector, look no further! I for one can't wait to
see the look on the face of whoever has the privilege of owning
this gem next. Could it be you?? Give our helpful and knowledgeable
Sales staff a call at (623) 900-4884 for more information.
