Thirty-five years after the Shelby Mustang program shuttered in the late 1960s, Carroll Shelby and Ford made a big announcement at the 2005 New York International Auto Show: the Shelby GT500 was returning for 2007. Standing alongside a bright red prototype with the famous Le Mans stripes, Shelby beamed as the spotlight returned to the legendary alliance between Shelby and Ford. This beautiful Shelby GT500 has 794 actual miles! Featuring a 5.4 Supercharged V8 producing 500HP and a six speed manual transmission, The engine is water to air intercooled and fortified with 4 valve aluminum heads and a steel crankshaft. Other modifications include heritage cued facia, spoilers and a power dome hood with twin heat extractors. The GT500 also came with a stainless x pipe exhaust system and Brembo brakes.
