When it comes to the new group of young classics, a Cobra like this
is king. The 1993 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra packs rarity, power, and

The third-generation Mustang was having its swan song in 1993, but
the Special Vehicle Team (SVT) at Ford decided to send it off with
something extraordinary. They made this final year the one and only
time for the Cobra package. The exterior was given subtle upgrades
with a new grille up front, vintage pony emblem in place of the
blue oval, and chrome cobras on the fenders. The rear has some
interesting features such as a unique SVT spoiler, and a new light
arrangement not seen since the rare Mustang SVO. The 7-spoke,
17-inch aluminum wheels are unique to these one-year-only Cobras,
and so it's great to have them looking so sharp. This is a factory
Teal car. The odometer is believed to reflect this car's full
actual mileage, averaging around 3k miles annually, and so the
paint remains highly original with a well-respected appearance.
It's easy to understand why this one is held in such esteem. There
were only 4,993 Cobras in this single-year batch, and only 1,335
were finished in Teal.
The interior is a well-done presentation that gives you stock style
with just a touch of added flair. The seats and door panels were
upgraded later in life to the correct-style tweed, but the custom
Cobra stitching in the seatbacks and doors makes this one unique.
It gives this the right kind of feeling you want to have a
distinguished classic. Plus, when paying for a top-level car like
this, you also get all the right features. It includes power
windows, power locks, power mirrors, rear defroster, power seat
bolstering, power steering, and cold-blowing air conditioning. The
sports steering wheel, full gauges, and stick shift are all part of
a package built to speak directly to the driver.
What makes the Cobra so special is the extra engineering. The SVT
department started out with the trusty 5.0-liter V8 block, and then
did some in-house shopping at Ford Motorsports. This includes the
larger valves of the GT-40 cylinder head package, high-flow fuel
injectors, performance camshaft, revised computer programming, and
a GT-40 intake. The result was one of the meanest cars Ford slipped
out the back door, and you take full control of it all with Borg
Warner T-5 five-speed manual transmission. This has upgraded
headers, and so when the V8 fires up, you get that wonderful growl
you want from the best pony cars. Four-wheel disc brakes, sway bars
front & rear, and a limited-slip rear end are all part of SVT's
package for a terrific Mustang.
