Gateway Classic Cars of Fort Lauderdale is pleased to present this
1985 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS. Chevrolet's Monte Carlo SS was
well-loved when introduced, and they still have a solid following
today because of their great looks, and plethora of options
regarding aftermarket goodies and engines. The monte Carlo SS,
Buick Grand National and Oldsmobile 442's ruled the mid 80's with
their great styling & performance, as did Pontiac's Grand Prix 2+2
Aero-Coupe. The original 305 V8 was swapped out with a stout GM ZZ6
350 10,000 miles ago, featuring fast-burn 62cc aluminum heads,
roller rockers, 4 bolt mains, forged crank & rods, and durable high
silico pistons with 9.72-1 compression. Advertised at 405 horses &
406 ft. lbs. of torque, it is (needless to say) a much better
engine than the original one. Combined with the 4-speed automatic,
it offers great performance, yet lower highway revs for better
economy. A whole bunch of receipts come with it, and show the
transmission was rebuilt as well. A custom late model Honda silver
was applied outside, and side stripes were left off giving it an
more updated look than original. The nose was replaced during
restoration with a nice straight, eliminating the aged, wavy look
of the factory one. The custom wheels really set it off. The
burgundy interior has a newer headliner, aftermarket shifter and
gauges, and is very comfortable. Equipment includes power steering,
power brakes, air conditioning, power windows, power locks, tilt
wheel, and AM/FM/CD. This 1985 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS is
