Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic Cars is happy to present this Lincoln Continental
Mark III. The story starts when Lee Iacocca walked into the Vice
President of Ford's design studio and said "Put a Rolls Royce grill
on a Thunderbird!". Make no mistake, this car is all Lincoln! The
Mark III debuted mid-season in 1968 for the 1969 model year. The
Mark Series became strong and successful competition to the
Eldorado and proved to be one of Lincoln's biggest hits! The
elegant yet sporty long hood, short deck design set the tone for
the personal luxury cars through the 1970's. Styling cues on the
Mark III are unmistakable, from the stately radiator style grill,
the iconic faux spare tire crown in the decklid, hideaway head
lights, and adorned with a white vinyl top over a medium blue
paint. Inside the Mark III you will find real walnut trim, a
Cartier clock, working heat and air conditioning, power seats,
windows, steering and brakes. All headlights, tail lights and
marker lights work properly, as does the horn. This car still
equipped with the spare tire and jack. The blue vinyl and cloth
seats are extremely comfortable and show like new. The backseat
area is just as spacious and comfortable as the front and there is
plenty of room for your family or friends to pile in and take a
stunning land yacht our for a cruise. Under the hood you will find
the 460 cui engine with 4 barrel carb and is capable of a 365hp. It
has been updated with new tires, brakes, brake lines, exhaust
system and a tune up with new spark plug wires. Travel back in time
in the amazing time capsule and feel the way Frank Sinatra and
Elvis Presley felt when they took the wheels of their Mark III.
