While Toyota has offered up a dime a dozen economy cars and
vehicles that some may regard as not that interesting, they have
also made some amazing vehicles that serves as benchmarks in the
JDM community in terms of performance, design, and just being plain
cool. The MRS/MR2 shows as an example of Toyota executing mid
engine rear wheel drive down to the T and making one hell of a fun
car out of it. This built 2001 Toyota MRS takes things further as a
fully built car producing upwards of 400 horsepower under a small
glossy black body that probably appears as a fast moving shadow to
anyone trying to look for this car from the outside as it's moving.
The dark and ominous look of this small sized performance machine
is capped off with a set of black 16" Rota Slip Streams giving this
car a truly mean look. Under the hood of this angry little car lies
a 1.8-liter 1ZZ inline 4 cylinder that has been beefed up with
Wiseco forged pistons, Crower connecting rods, a ported and
polished cylinder head, Koyo racing radiator, Toga high volume oil
pump as well as an oil cooler to get this little 4 banger ready to
handle an aggressive amount of boost through an intercooler to make
this car the monster that it is. The power is transferred back to a
5-speed manual transaxle to offer the most fun possible while
laying on it. The ride is held up by KW coilovers as well as Cusco
strut braces in the front and rear. Also features full
undercarriage bracing, roll cage and rear trailing arms. The
interior also is like a small party on wheels when factoring in the
Eclipse DVD and navigation 2-din touchscreen head unit that pushes
sound through a 4-channel JL Audio amplifier out to Infinity
component speakers and an MTX subwoofer. You won't find another MR
built as cool as this one and one really shouldn't pass on an
opportunity like this to be in the seat of it. This 2001 Toyota MRS
