Vehicle Description
This 1966 Chevrolet Nova is the kind of fully upgraded classic that
leaves you wanting for nothing. It has the awesomely sleek finish
of an upgraded muscle machine, and there's a fuel-injected LS power
and upgraded suspension to back up those looks. You get to enjoy it
all from a full custom A/C interior. And with less than 2k miles on
the build everything is clean, right down to the color-matched
undercarriage!
Red is a popular color for performance machines, but you can
instantly tell there's something more here. It has a deeper tone
than 1966's Regal Red, and the modern paint practices gives it a
metallic element that could never be imagined over a half-century
ago. And the bold paint is the kickoff to fully amp up the
aggressive features. There's a big two-inch cowl hood up front, and
there are hints of polished exhaust tips below each rear fender.
Plus, the 18-inch Rocket Racing wheels can't help but announce this
is something special. And the way these modern tires still fit into
this classic bodywork show you there was thoughtfulness and quality
in the restoration. You also see this in the details, including the
mirror-like shine of the wide chrome bumpers, new stainless trim,
excellent panel fit, and the all-new glass.
The full restoration was complete in 2018, and with so few miles
added since then, even the interior still feels exceptionally
fresh. We like how the door panels and dash respect the original
design, but there are also some cool upgrades throughout the rest
of this Nova. The bucket seats have the classic low-back look, but
they are now modern ProCar units with nice bolstering. And the rear
upholstery was done to match. This was built with modern
convenience in mind. So you have cold-blowing air conditioning, a
custom center console, LED backlit cup holders, seven-speed
windshield wipers, and an AM/FM/CD stereo with a touchscreen
interface that runs the sat nav, Bluetooth, and a backup camera.
And there's even modern FatMat sound insulation to amplify the full
quality feeling of this build. More than just a coddler, this is
also a true driver's machine. That's why you have a Momo sports
steering wheel with cool red stitching to match the exterior. It's
mounted on an Ididit tilt steering column. And you also have a full
set of AutoMeter ProComp gauges placed in a custom panel that lets
you know about everything going on in the engine bay.
That might be a modern 5.7-liter LS1 V8 under the hood, but it
looks perfect in this classic. After all, smooth color-matched
inner walls and custom color-matched engine cover remind you this
is a thoughtful build. And the fresh/polished components always
look good in a classic. And thoughtful placement of large
components like the compressor and the ECM all make for a tidy and
award-worthy presentation. And more than just look terrific, there
was plenty of investment in making sure this motor upgrade stays
useful and consistent. So you have details, like all-new harnesses,
fuse block, OBD II interface, Powermaster 165 amp alternator,
Wilwood master cylinder, and an AFCO racing aluminum radiator
w/electric fan. The mighty LS1 fires up with added power and
authority as ceramic-coated headers feed the X-pipe dual exhaust.
The 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission offers crisp downshifts
for power and an overdrive gear for highway cruising. It feeds a
strong Currie 9-inch rear with Richmond gear 3.50. As you check it
all out in the undercarriage photos, you'll love the color-matched
red that will have you putting a mirror under this one at car
shows. You'll also spot the tubular A-arm independent front
suspension, and a four-link rear with diagonal link and adjustable
coilovers. Plus, power steering, modern Toyo tires, and four-wheel
disc brakes with drilled & slotted rotors make this an outstanding
total driver.
Complete with plenty of build receipts, it's the best of classic
and modern car worlds in one coupe. What more could you ask for?
