A Virtual Time-Warp Preservation Porsche 911!
9113103094 was completed in June of 1973 wearing Bahia Red paint
over Black Leatherette with U.S. Equipment (C02), Comfort Equipment
(470), Manual Antenna, Loudspeaker and Noise Suppression (440) - no
radio, Tinted Glass (568), Stabilizer Bars - front and rear (404)
and Dunlop tires. The 911 was purchased new by Clifford Holm of
Monterey, California (at the time), through Wester Porsche/Audi in
Seaside, CA. Holms was stationed in Monterey at the time and is
remembered as an accomplished multi-engine Naval pilot, and Navy
pilot instructor, with carrier missions in and out of Vietnam.
In 1977, Holm and the Porsche relocated to Aurora, Colorado.
According to Clifford's brother Russell, the 911 was stowed away
during the mid-1980's to avoid high insurance premiums. Clifford
opted to drove a Volkswagen instead as his daily driver. The
Porsche would remain in storage until Holm's passing in 2015.
Russell Holm would inherit the 911, where it was relocated to
Austin, Texas, followed with a mechanical recommissioning performed
by marque specialists TPWS, Inc. of Austin in January 2016. By
April 2016, 9113103094 had found a new family in Palmetto, Florida.
Subsequent services and upkeep would follow, while conscientiously
preserving the vehicle's extreme originality.
The 911 is supported by its original window sticker, vehicle
delivery and check list, registration receipts, VIN-matched
Maintenance Records booklet, and Owner's manual - in vinyl folio,
with Hirschmann antenna key. Records and invoices dated
1973-Present accompany the car in a large dossier.
The current recorded mileage of 26,060 is documented as original.
Holm was mindful to log the Porsche's mileage, fuel stops and
services up to 22,695 miles. Fastidious preservation lends a
striking appearance as displayed today. Upon inspection, the
Porsche was found to be in astonishingly original condition, with
factory original paint, upholstery, front and rear compartments,
undercarriage, trim, glass, lights, lenses, bumperettes, finishes,
coatings, equipment, and much more.
An honest presentation for continued enjoyment or world-class
preservation display, the exterior's paint appears to remain
entirely original, bright and glossy (see paint depth numbers and
chart), while the interior is fitted with original leatherette
seating and surrounds, carpeting (protected by supplemental sisal
floor mats), dashboard and headliner - all in exceptional, like-new
condition. All original etched glass and rubber seals are fitted. A
California emissions decal is adhered to the driver's rear quarter
glass - opposite of the 1972 commemorative Gewinnt Can-Am &
Interserie decal. A step inside the cabin is a virtual time-warp.
The look and feel of a freshly restored 911, yet all materials are
factory original. All instruments and safety equipment in proper
working order, including the clock. Truly a sight to behold.
Both front and rear compartments are tidy with correct decals,
finishes, and equipment in the engine bay and extraordinarily
preserved up front. The luggage compartment contains a matching
11/1972 dated spare wheel, shod with a correct new 185/70VR15
Pirelli CN36 tire (matching the 4 exterior), original Perlon
carpeting, jack and tool kit. The factory wax seal is still visible
on the smuggler's compartment, as well a wire harness tags, black
paint smears and cadmium/zinc plating. Equally paired is the
incredibly tidy and corrosion-free undercarriage, displaying
remarkably preserved original paint finishes and hardware coatings,
as well as the 911's original matching-numbers engine and
transmission.
In addition to a 2020 scheduled inspection, service and detailing,
9113103094 was subjected to a Porsche Classic Technical Inspection
performed by Texas' only Porsche Classic Partner. An accompanying
Technical Certificate verifies the car's matching-as-delivered
configuration and mechanical aptitude. The Porsche drives tight and
performs well as expected from such a low mileage example, with
engine compressions reading: 125, 130, 120, 125, 130, 120 psi.
With superb fit, finish, and overall preservation, the 911T is
further supported by a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. This
outstanding purpose-built Porsche exudes an incredibly honest
character and a rare opportunity to acquire one of the finest 2.4L
CIS ur-911s on the market.
