Gateway Classic Cars is honored to offer this sharp 1964 Buick
Electra 225 Convertible. 1959 was the introduction year for the -
now classic - Electra name and keeping with Buick tradition the
Electra was built for speed and comfort and was considered a step
above its rivals. The model received glowing praise from the
motoring press and sold like hotcakes. To enhance the image and
prestige of the Electra model, marketeers slapped the 225 moniker
on the rear quarters. A brash nod to the 225 inches of real estate
the Electra occupied from bumper to bumper. On the streets, it was
affectionately called the 'Deuce and a Quarter'. This 1964 Buick
Electra 225 is an example of what's consider a high-water mark of
GM's early 60s styling. With crisp, sharp, lines, and few
flourishes, the styling was a far cry from the chrome laden
jukeboxes of GM's 1950s line-up. Sporting creases as sharp as a
tuxedo, this big girl has presence and class and the power to
compliment it! Powered by a - owner claimed - original 401ci, '445
Wildcat' V8; the big 'Deuce' was rated at 325hp and 445ft/lbs of
torque. This 55-year-old Electra lives up to the Buick tradition of
speed and comfort. It has no problem getting out of its own way or
keeping up with modern traffic. If the styling and power aren't
enough, this car is loaded with options. These include a power top,
power driver's seat and power windows with red leather interior.
The car is a claimed one owner car with the patina of a well-cared
for heirloom that's just beginning to show signs of age. This is
one to preserve before it's too late. A full on restoration or
preserve it as is with occasional top down cruising, this Electra
will bring a smile to your face and turn lots of heads. Either way,
don't let this 64 'Deuce and a Quarter' pass you by! To view this
