This 1978 Ford Fairmont is for sale at our Louisville showroom. The
Fairmont was the beginning car for Ford's "Fox" platform which
spanned over 15+ models from 1977 to 1993. The Fairmont is known
for being a dependable and cost efficient soap box style car that
shuttled small American families around to school and work in the
late 70s and early 80. This particular Fairmont wagon is far from
your regular factory fox. It rolled into the showroom 84,753 miles
on the odometer and a 302CID v8 muscling it along. A recently
rebuilt C4 transmission with 4,000 miles puts the power to the 8.8
rear end with Ranger axles. The suspension on this car has been
well sorted with lowering springs in the front and rear along with
2 inch drop spindles from a 96 Mustang. The ride quality is superb
and it feels super tight around the corners. Brakes have also
recently been gone through. A new Flowmaster exhaust gives the 302
a nice deep tone down low and wails up high. The yellow exterior
has held up well over the years with few blemishes. The Tan vinyl
interior is in wonderful shape and has been Dynamatted to keep out
road noise. The underside has been undercoated with POR-15 keeping
the frame rust free as well. A/C works perfectly and will keep you
cool even on the hottest days. Brand new Michelin tires mounted on
Bullit style wheels give this Fairmont a mean stance and it looks
just right! To view this 1978 Ford Fairmont in greater detail,
