Now for sale in our Houston Showroom is this jaw dropping 1966
Chevrolet C10. This was a 2200hr + build done by Distinctive Street
Rods in Camden, NY. The owner took delivery late September, 2017.
You would be hard pressed to be able to build this truck for less
than $300,000. There are only 4 original parts on this truck: Cab,
hood, grill surround and the front bumper, which has been turned
upside down and tips shaped to conform to the fender. Custom powder
coated square tube chassis by Scott's Hot rods. IFS, 4 link rear,
Moser 9", 3.73:1 gearing. Aluminum 20-gallon fuel tank mounted in
the rear under the bed. All lines, brakes and fuel, are polished SS
are are virtually every nut, bolt, washer and screw on the entire
vehicle. Wilwood 16" rotors front, 14" rear with 6 piston calipers
all four corners. Coddington rims: 18"x 8" front, 20" x 12" rear.
It has power brakes and power steering. The engine is a crate LSA
tuned to 600HP. Concept One pulley set with a Lingenfelter under
drive pulley on the supercharger snout. The electric pump for the
supercharger as well as its SS reservoir is hidden under the right
front fender. Custom aluminum radiator by Wizard Cooling and a very
efficient electric puller fan keep it cool even on the hottest
days. The transmission is a 4L80E, that was built by California
Custom, capable of handling 1000 HP. It has an under-chassis
cooling fan as well. The cab has had its drip rails shaved, door
handles and gas filler opening filled and smoothed. There is an LED
3rd stop light installed in the very upper edge of the rear of the
cab. The doors open remotely and there is a manual back up to open
a door. There is a master kill switch hidden and well as hidden
jumper posts should the battery die. The battery is in the center
console, underneath a tray to keep a cleaner appearance throughout.
The side glass is 1 piece electrically lifted which was a very
expensive, time consuming project. But the look (minus those ugly
vent windows) was worth it. The remote that opens the doors is also
used as a proximity sending unit for the push button start. The
hood is help open with hinges by Eddies Racing. The front turn
signals were relocated from the hood to grill, a custom SS bar set
(my trademark). They are 4" LED. and the holes where there factory
turns signals were are filled. The headlights are J.W. Speaker
LED's, the brightest, whitest ones allowed in the US. The doors,
front fenders, bed sides, bed front are all new sheet metal as is
the MAR-K reversed tailgate. The handle is on the inside and uses
SS cabinet hinges to lower and hold. The rear tubs are new and
widened 4.5" to handle the larger rear tires. The bed wood is an
African exotic called Padauk. It was milled and then allowed to dry
for over 2 years to reduce shrinkage. These are held down by SS
strips with hidden hardware. The LED taillights were custom made
for this truck. As you will see in the photos, they were installed
in custom bezels and then Frenched into the rear bed sides. The
lights are 3 function: taillight, stoplight and reverse light. The
rear roll pan is integrated into the body and includes a back-up
camera. Inside, virtually all the modern amenities: Vintage Air
A/C, heater and full defrost. 7" Pioneer AM/FM with XM/Sirius which
has Apple Play and all it's associated functions. The is a dock on
the console for an iPhone integrated with a hidden Lightening cord
to the radio to have GPS Nav. There is a hidden mike for hands free
talking. The seats are reshaped buckets I designed for long range
comfort. As an airline pilot doing trips up to 17 hours, I knew
what made a seat comfortable. The seats, headliner, console sides
and door panels are covered with the same fine leather as Ferraris.
Left electric, right manual. The dash and center console hold a
total of 10 custom made gauges from Autometer with body color
matching pointers and trim rings. The carpet is vintage Mercedes
Benz square loop carpet. The interior was done by Rich Perez, who
has done the interiors of over 50 national champion vehicles. The
center console is custom built and in addition to the
above-mentioned items in it, it has the switches for the power
windows and buttons to open the doors. And of course, a 2-cup
beverage holder. The paint is PPG Deltron. Their color name is Tin
Roof Rusted. It is the 2016 Camaro Garnet Red. Every surface, top
to bottom, including the undercarriage has received 3 ceramic
coatings. All fabrics and glass have received the proper
treatments. With much more to talk about on this truck, and plenty
of documentation on the build, this beauty is a MUST HAVE for your
collection. For more information on this 1966 Chevrolet C10 for
