Vehicle Description
2020 Ford Shelby GT500
As the most powerful and quickest factory Mustang ever, the Ford
Mustang Shelby GT500 blends modern sports-car performance with
iconic muscle-car presence. It builds on the same racetrack-capable
chassis as the excellent Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 with an
additional 234 horsepower that lends it credibility at the drag
strip as well. The GT500 makes speed effortlessly with equal parts
brains and brawn, including a supercharged V-8 that hammers out 760
horsepower, a quick-shifting seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, and
magnetorheological dampers. The Shelby GT500 sits at the pinnacle
of American muscle cars alongside the 650-hp Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
and the 797-hp Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye.
For consignment the most powerful Mustang you can currently order,
and this one in 40.9 mile showroom condition. It sports a Carbon
Fiber track pack, and other carbon fiber add ons, has a technology
package, an awesome sound system, Recaro seats, and a touch screen
navigation 4G system installed. Oh, did I mention the 5.2 liter
supercharged V8? 760 horses at your right foot baby!
Exterior
With the addition of the carbon fiber track package there are
plenty of aero flaring, spoilers and add ons to make this car
menacing looking on the exterior. Bathed in Rapid Red Metallic, and
painted over black striping, black egg crate grille with centered
hissing Cobra Badge, integrated HID projector headlamp, and LED
sequential tail lamps, she's tough to beat looks wise. All the
while maintaining as Ford does the original Mustang look utilizing
the hockey stick cove and triple rear tail lighting. Just above
said lighting is a carbon fiber spoiler that frames a steeply raked
rear glass. Big quad exhaust tips peek out from the black rear roll
panel and sound off as they should upon the more up. 20 inch carbon
fiber black spoked wheels are wrapped in gummy thin bands on all 4
corners.
Interior
Breathe in the 40.9 mile new car smell and all the leather encased
surfaces as well as the over the top technology that surrounds the
driver and passengers. Upfront a 12-inch LCD instrument panel
cluster grabs your attention. This is fronted by a telescoping
tilting steering column topped by a Alcantara wrapped steering
wheel complete with shifter paddles and various other finger touch
controls. For the chairs we have Recaro leather trimmed seats with
suede inserts and white accented wide bolsters, a snake embroidered
badge and all integrated headrests. In dash central we note a large
touch and voice activated screen for the radio, navigation, back up
cam and phone system integration. Climate controls for each
passenger to get it just right baby bear for each individual. Up
top a carbon fiber dash top houses some round gauges and ball
styled air venting. Toggles for Magneride adjustment, launch
controls and other modes are available at your fingertips. Rear
seating, or lack thereof has been deleted but does still sport the
formed tubs now covered with carpeting, so one can assume its a
rear seat delete car. A traditional shift lever had been replaced
with an electronic wheel to select your drive mode to go front,
back or park. Black for the carpeting and headliner, and you are
ready to roll in style and speed all secure except for the poh poh
that will pull you over for doing anything over 80, which in this
car is just getting warmed up. Careful!
Drivetrain
5.2 Liters of Crossplane crank V8 are stuffed into this engine bay.
It has EFI and is supercharged for just a bit more oomph, or should
I say OOOMPH!! A Tremec 7-speed automatic paddle shift transmission
is on the back of this mill, and a Torsen differential with 3.73
TracLock carrier takes the power and puts it to the wheels, and
then some.
Undercarriage
New and untouched by any road dirt to date, we note independent
coil springs all around, Brembo brakes with 2 piece rotors in power
disc form, and a track app non nanny assisted mode controllable by
the key fob.
With preservation of the low, low mileage status we did not drive
this car, even though we would have loved to. Just look at the
stats online and fantasize about how it can take you to the next
level on the performance front, and if you are really into it, or
just make a purchase for that perma-smile look! Push the button,
flip the paddles and go..
