For Sale: 1976 Triumph TR7 in Folsom, California

Vehicle Description

This 1976 Triumph TR7 was manufactured in Liverpool, England in November 1976 and purchased by the seller on February 23rd, 1977.  Upgrades a Monza exhaust, chrome valve cover, and burlwood interior trim kit.  This TR7 is now offered on a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Russet Brown and features pop-up headlights and black safety bumpers front and rear. The seller notes an accident occurring in 1979 that damaged the front valance and fender, both of which were replaced at the time along with a full repaint.  The vehicle has been painted two more times since, and it is said to be free of rust although there are small cosmetic blemishes.

Multi-spoke 13” wheels are polished aluminum and are mounted to Michelin X Radial tires sized at 175/70 on all four corners.  Handling is provided by an independent front suspension and four-link rear, with coil springs all around. Upgrades include a Huffacker Engineering camber adjustment kit and polyurethane bushings.

The interior is trimmed in Golden Tan vinyl with matching door panels and rear decklid, and includes the original and correct three compartment rear shelf.  Originally finished in Biscuit vinyl, the interior was reupholstered in 2004. Interior features include a locking glovebox with original, intact, lanyards, a wood interior trim kit, and a modern CD player equipped stereo with aftermarket speakers.

Instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer, along with supplementary gauges for fuel level, voltage, coolant temperature, and oil pressure.  The five-digit odometer reads 20k miles. The seller indicates that during a two-year period, the odometer was not functioning however a mileage log was kept.

The original 2.0L 4-cylinder engine was replaced but retains many original components like the heads. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a replacement transmission and rear end. The seller states that the engine has a minor oil leak and the air conditioning does not work, but all parts for the system are intact and three 1-pound cans of R12 Freon are included with the sale.  An oil change and carburetor adjustment were performed in March 2020 and a California smog test was passed in March 2020.

Service records and parts receipts since new and original paperwork including the bill of sale are included with the sale. Also included are the original transmission and rear differential along with a treasure trove of new and used parts. Located in Folsom, California this 1976 Triumph TR7 is now offered for sale on a clean California title in the sellers name.
