MILEAGE SINCE 1995FAST-RISING AND COLLECTIBLE AIR-COOLED PORSCHE
MODEL Following the Carrera of the mid-1970s, relentless
development of the 911 by Porsches engineering wizards yielded the
911 SC (S=Super, C=Carrera) for 1978. Powered by an enlarged, 3.0
liter flat-six producing 180 factory-rated HP and fortified with
stronger internals developed for the 930 Turbo, the 911 SC
delivered outstanding performance and drivability with lower
emissions than before, ensuring the 911s viability in Porsches
important North American export markets. Roadholding was improved
with the prior Carreras fatter anti-roll bars and flared
Carrera-style rear fenders housing wider 15-inch wheels mounting
standard speed-rated tires and 16-inch wheels and tires were
optional for the first time. Newly standard power brakes, plus fog
lamps and bold black 911SC scripts were other special features of
the 911 SC. With just 47,000 miles and benefiting handsomely from
two-family ownership and care from new, this truly outstanding,
collector-grade 1982 Porsche 911 SC Coupe was built during July
1982 and it is one of only 2,457 911 SC Coupes shipped to the USA
for 1982. In addition to standard power disc brakes front and rear,
plus power steering, windows, and mirrors, this 911 SC features the
all-weather comfort of A/C plus a sunroof, rear defroster,
headlight washers, and an upgraded Sony AM/FM CD stereo head unit.
The second owner purchased the Porsche from the original family in
1995 at 15,850 miles, with mileage progressively tracked by a
logbook until 2001, when the car was passed within the same family.
Throughout its lifetime, this 911 SC has never been winter-driven,
a rarity for any Midwestern car. As offered, it remains in
exceptionally original, well-maintained order, with newer paintwork
to the left side and right front fender. Most recently, the Porsche
received $3,340 in service work from the Porsche specialists
including a general mechanical inspection, new oil seals, and fluid
services for the engine, brakes, and transmission. A thorough
review, detailing, and beautiful paint correction were just
completed by us at The Last Detail. Along with the aforementioned
logbook and service invoices, this wonderfully presented 1982
Porsche 911 SC includes a space-saver spare wheel/tire, original
toolkit, and roadside jack. In recent years, the Porsche 911 SC has
caught the attention of collectors and die-hard Porsche driving
enthusiast for their many special features and of course, the
performance delivered by its 3.0-liter flat-six engine. More than a
worthy successor to the prior Carrera, the SC has seen substantial
increases in interest and selling prices, making this very fine and
highly original, low-mile example from 1982 an outstanding
opportunity to own and enjoy one of Porsches best iterations of the
beloved 911. Contact us, see it for yourself, and buy it before its
gone!
