This 1979 Ford F250 is a Ranger and a Camper Special. This is a
really cool truck and it is an original survivor. It is a very
clean and original F250 that came out of Oregon and it is as nice
as they come for a truck that has not been restored. The truck is
said to have original miles of 102K, and based on the condition we
definitely believe it. We do have receipts from over the years
which back it up also. This is the highest GVW available which is
8400 and this gives it the DANA 60 Axles Front & Rear. The body on
this truck is extremely nice and straight. There is no evidence of
rust or rust repair anywhere and the paint appears to be original.
The color is Light Medium Blue. The paint is still excellent and
holds a nice shine and there are only a couple of minor dings and
minor paint chips. The underside is also extremely clean as you can
see in the pictures on our website. The interior is also in great
condition and it still has the original carpet which still looks
really nice and supports the mileage as well. It does have a more
comfortable aftermarket seat and an aftermarket stereo. The dash is
original an shows some wear. All of the lights, gauges, wipers,
horn, and AC work. It is a very nice original interior.
Mechanically this F250 is excellent. This truck came originally
with a 400M. At some point that engine was replaced with a more
desirable rebuilt 460 V8. The engine was replaced at 96,000 miles
so the engine has around 6,000 miles on it. It has an Edelbrock
Carb and Intake, dual exhaust, dual batteries, and HD Radiator.
This engine runs strong and the truck drives great!! The
transmission is the NP435 4 Speed manual and it is mated to the
NP205 Transfer Case. 4wd works as it should and the transmission
shifts nice. As previously stated the Axles are DANA 60's and the
rear axle is a Limited Slip. They both have 3.54 Gears. The tires
are Pro Comp 33 Inch with excellent tread on new chrome rims. This
truck is such a good looking rig and it runs and drives as good as
it looks.
