This 1950 GMC Suburban is a beautiful example of a frame-off
restored vehicle. These are very rare to see and find and the
previous owner had this truck restored and built with the intent of
doing a Route 66 trip with a Vintage Camper. Everything on this
Burb was either new or rebuilt and it has some nice upgrades to
make it look and function better while still appearing original.
The body on this rig is excellent!!! The truck originally cam from
Wyoming and it was avery clean truck to start with (see photo of
when he picked it up). When restored, he had it repainted in what
we believe are the original colors of Cape Maroon and Sun Beige.
the truck was completely disassembled for paint and it was painted
inside and out. The paint is awesome!! After painting they put in
all new windows, seals, door seals, weatherstripping and also
detailed the underside nicely. The interior is in Superb restored
condition. Everything is new or re-done. It has a nice custom
stereo, working factory heater, electric wiper conversion, restored
factory gauges, and complete new wiring harness. This Burb also has
original 3rd Row seating which is really cool!! Everything is in
working order and everything was very, very nicely done!
Mechanically this vehicle is all new with alot of nice updates! The
engine is a GM 261 Inline Six which is much nicer than the
original. It was totally rebuilt and updated with all of the
performance parts available. It has Fenton Ceramic Coated Exhaust,
Fenton Aluminum Dual Carb Intake with new Dual Carbs, 12 Volt
Alternator, Electronic Ignition, and wayne Aluminum Dress up kit
for appearance. The engine starts and runs excellent and it has a
nice throaty exhaust system. The transmission is a rebuilt 200R4
Transmission with Lokar Shifter which a a stronger transmission
than the 700R4. It shifts great and has OD. It also has Power Front
Disc Brakes. This is just a cool original looking Suburban that was
built for someone to drive.
