Vehicle Description

1970 Chevrolet SS Nova, Better Than NEW!! * Rotisserie, Nut and bolt, ground up. So, the numbers presently on the deck stamp matched a 1969 SS Camaro "Yenko Clone" car that I purchased with this motor in it and later sold in December 2011. However, I kept the entire drive-line and after rebuilding it; installed it in this 1970 SS Nova. Therefore: the numbers stamped on the pad read 79N579523 TO1O9MN; Block Casting is 3955270 and the date code # H 11 8 which would appear to be (August 11, 1968...) as found on the front passenger side of engine in front of the starter. The Block also embossed w HI PERF PASS K. numbers appear to be 18A (Might be 16A). I was told by the fellow who built the 69 Camaro "Yenko Clone" car that this 427ci engine came out of his personal 1969 Corvette. At the time of my purchase, I also bought w the car the aluminum L88 heads that came off of the Yenko Clone but as they were so filled w porosity; they were in too poor of condition and the builder of the Camaro confirmed that's why he removed them and replaced w the heavier steel squareport heads; that's why he removed the aluminum heads and at that time installed the squareport steel heads which since I have also sold. NOW for the rebuild from previous owner ENGINE: Less than 1,000 miles on this engine and build. The 4 bolt main block was freshly honed, bored.030 over 427 w TRW forged pistons/ 10.5:1 compression and steel crank .010/ .010, new Levite bearings, new moly rings, new timing chain and gears w Torrington bearing and new oil pump New competition cam solid lifter/ .60+ split duration (new Pro Comp Aluminum / Square port heads w ss valves, adjacent guide plates, roller rockers, High Performance pushrods, new ARP Head stud kit, new Cam bearings and soft plugs, and reconditioned rods. Presently has a 750 CFM rebuilt Holly carburator. with aluminum snowflake intake manifold. This rebuilt engine after break in was benched until 2019 when I installed it into this Nova. TRANSMISSION: The M22 GM Muncie Rockcrusher 4-spd is a 1968 course spline (Possibly made 1 yr only) GM# 3925660 on the case. P8C 26: Sidecover # 39506, also on the Case # 1618413; tailshaft # 385784. My mechanics are persuaded both engine and transmission came out of the same car. NOTE: As for the 427 engine when rebuilt it still had the original L-88 Crank, L88 Cam and Rods. at time of rebuild replaced the L88 cam with a better cam to match the new larger aluminum heads. REAR END: The rear end has a new posi unit carrier w a 3:73 Gear. VIN NUMBER: 114270W296225/ Tag on firewall shows: 11427WRN265929 Delivery and financing available
