CPR Classic is delighted to offer this lovely 1968 Mercedes Benz
250SL finished in Burgundy over a Parchment interior.
This gorgeous 250SL is a nicely restored example that received
extensive restoration work from 2013-2015. The car lived in Los
Angeles with a doctor who purchased the car and then had a major
mechanical overhaul performed.
A complete engine overhaul on the matching numbers engine
commenced, which included OEM Mercedes parts used wherever
possible, and the highest quality refurbished parts otherwise. The
engine overhaul included complete machine work, new pistons and
rings, new timing chain and guides, new rocker arms, new valve
guides, all new coolant lines, all new gaskets, a serviced Bosch
fuel pump, new intermediate gears, new oil pump, water pump, and
complete new thermostat housing. A new brake booster and master
cylinder were also installed. Cosmetically, all appropriate engine
bay parts were powder-coated. All plating was finished in correct
gold. A correct engine pad was also installed.
From 2014 - 2015, the car was prepared and serviced by Motoring
Investments. Over $15,000 was spent during several visits to
Motoring Investments, which included the installation of a
completely new air conditioning system, some interior work, and
several mechanical services. A minor issue with the air
conditioning was addressed, and the fuel injection system was tuned
on its last visit to Motoring Investments in July of 2015.
This stunning Mercedes Benz SL has only traveled several thousand
miles since all of the abovementioned work was performed. The car
drives wonderfully with smooth shifts, effortless steering, and a
very tight and sorted ride. Cosmetically the car is superb
throughout. The paint, brightwork, and interior are all show
quality.
The Mercedes Benz SL Pagoda is an iconic design and has a truly
