For Sale: 1955 Chevrolet 210 in Charlotte, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

Virtually everyone knows Chevrolet as one of Detroit's legendary muscle car divisions. What they might not know is that the brand's storied muscle car pedigree actually started when GM began mounting hot small block power in plush people movers like this stylish 1955 210. The very definition of class, this pleasing pro-tourer wraps custom burgundy skin around custom leather, a hot LS3 and a choice Roadster Shop chassis. For fans of '50s metal, it doesn't get much better than a tri-five Chevy. And if you're an enthusiast who's itching for an all-American cruiser that's sure to be the star of every show around, this sweet sedan is your kind of classic!

AGGRESSIVE OPULENCE

Built to turn heads and kick asphalt, this impressive Chevy is the beneficiary of a detailed, ground-up restoration that, less than 500 miles back, wrapped solid sheetmetal in striking metallic 2-stage. At the front of those svelte aesthetics, a smoothed bumper guards a polished grille, stainless-trimmed parking lamps and modern tri-bar headlights. At the top of that grille, a nosed hood flows to capped wipers, which front a stainless-trimmed 'post' greenhouse. At the base of that restoration-fresh glass, a strategically shaved profile aligns traditional door handles with ornate speed spears. And at the back of the car, a second smoothed bumper reflects a decked trunk and slick LED tail lamps, one of which electronically reveals the car's factory fuel filler.

CHEVROLET PERFORMANCE POWER

Pop this 210's stylish hood and you'll find a hot Chevrolet Performance LS3 that, like the car's restoration, is fresh and ready to roll. One of the most well rounded crate engines Chevrolet offers, the LS376/480 utilizes aluminum construction, L92-style heads and a racing-inspired Hot Cam to mix miles of thrills with years of reliable cruising. And, churning stout 10.7 to 1 compression into 495 horsepower and 473 lb./ft. of torque, the smooth-revving mill is certainly no slouch in the performance department! Smoothed, Inferno Red fuel rail shrouds complement a compact Inferno Red air tube. Factory serpentine components spin a monochromatic water pump between a monochromatic alternator and a monochromatic AC compressor. There's a polished Griffin radiator that's fitted with big SPAL puller fans. A proven Wilwood master cylinder flanks a convenient Wilwood proportioning valve. Pliable GM plug wires join a Holley oil pan and tidy Hooker headers to detail an otherwise purpose-built performer. And everything rides in a custom, body-matched engine bay that's finished with Billet Specialties hood supports and a polished radiator support.

RS

Under the car, traditional tri-five bones have been replaced with a sturdy Roadster Shop Fast Track chassis that's fabricated around boxed, 10-gauge frame rails. Those bones make excellent use of sixth-generation Corvette hubs, sixth-generation Corvette spindles, Penske-engineered coil-overs and a 4-bar, large-diameter rear-clip. That clip gets pushed by a 9-inch Strange axle that's finished with a posi-traction differential and 31-spline axles. Shifts get dealt by a 4L70E 4-speed automatic transmission. Turns are tight thanks to power rack-and-pinion steering and a splined, 1.25-inch sway bar. Stops are provided by bright Wilwood calipers, which squeeze a total of 20 pistons around a quartet of drilled and slotted rotors. Spent gases float from the aforementioned headers to custom, large-diameter pipes, which pass through deep BORLA ProXS mufflers. And the car sits low and mean on chromed Coys wheels, which spin 225/45R18 Nankang Sportnex in front of 275/40ZR18 Sumitomo HTR ZIIIs.

STUNNING CUSTOMIZATION

Open this Chevy's doors and you'll find a killer cockpit that mixes miles of custom leather with the best conveniences of a modern commuter. Front and center, a gorgeous dash seats bowtie-stamped trim around glowing Dakota Digital VHX telemetry and cool Vintage Air conditioning. Speaking of seating, the car's passengers ride a quartet of plush buckets that, together, trace a custom, full-length console. Sculpted side panels point stylish, billet handles in front of power-operated windows. Tunes are kept steady thanks to a sophisticated JVC head unit. And the driver feels the road through a short Lokar shifter and a color-keyed Flaming River Waterfall that laps a polished, tilting column.

This slick Chevy is a super cool pro-tourer that'll easily be the center of attention wherever it roams. With its smooth V8, athletic chassis and tailored aesthetics, it represents the pinnacle of American style both new and old. Looking for a top-notch classic to enjoy for years to come? Your search is officially over!
