Vehicle Description
This 1972 Jeep CJ5 has the rugged look of a go-anywhere machine,
and there's an upgraded fuel-injected V8 to make sure it really can
live up to this legacy. But don't forget to check out all the
well-done investments that not only add capability to this 4x4, but
also make it a looker, too.
This Jeep just looks like its ready for an adventure. It's painted
the kind of safety orange that tells you it was made to get so deep
into nature that most people won't expect to find a vehicle. And
all the added dark pieces love to highlight just how fortified this
4x4 is. The black steel bumpers have big tow hooks; the wide fender
flares accommodate the big off-road wheels and tires; the tubular
side steps and diamond plating protect the rockers and rear
corners; and the rear has a big rack with two 5-gallon cans and a
full-size spare. Plus, we particularly like the blackout front end
with the upgraded LEDs to light the way forward. There's even a new
Bestop full soft top and doors package that coordinates with the
rest of the black on this CJ. It's such a well-done total
presentation that it reminds us this Jeep can look just as good out
on the town as it does at the campsite.
The upgraded roll cage really catches your eye when the roof is
off, and it's made with strong DOM steel tubing. Plus, there's new
seating w/seatbelts, including the high-back front buckets with
proper shoulder belts. These seats are done in a rugged vinyl and
there's Raptor liner paint covering the new floors, so it's a stout
setup designed to have cleaning be as easy as a garden hose. The
Grant GT steering wheel is on a tilt column, and the tall shifter
is the perfect place to rest your right hand.
Jeep's 304 cubic-inch V8 is already an awesomely stout powerhouse,
but one look at the tidy engine bay, and you can see there has been
a big investment here in adding power. So now it has a mild cam,
aluminum intake, and a Howell fuel-injection system. Plus, this has
great supporting components, like a Painless wiring harness, Optima
red top battery, and an aluminum radiator. So it makes for a stout
package that fires up eagerly and runs strong. The Tremec T176
four-speed manual transmission was rebuilt to give you firm control
over the V8 power. This has a proper Dana 300 two-speed transfer
case, Dana 30 front axle, and Dana 44 rear for a stout 4x4 package.
Add in wide Copper Discoverer A/T tires, power steering, and power
brakes w/discs up front, and this is a true go-anywhere Jeep.
This is the CJ that has already been done with everything you want.
