Vehicle Description
Premium, vintage, upgraded, and powerful...this 1969 Chevrolet
Camaro RS/SS Tribute makes all the right first impressions. So with
its sleek appearance, houndstooth interior, four-on-the-floor, and
396 cubic-inch big block, this crisply restored coupe has you in
love/lust at first sight.
Black is beautiful, and it's expensive. To get something this
sleek, it takes a solid investment in a professional application of
the modern clearcoat. The shine also helps to highlight the good
panel fit and straight sheetmetal throughout. This level of quality
is essential on a '69 Camaro because we all take a little extra
time to check these out at the car shows. And you can tell there
has been a lot of investment in brightwork pieces such as the thin
wraparound chrome bumpers, rocker panels, and trim outlining the
hardtop. Of course, the piece of trim that people will recognize
the most is on the hidden headlight doors for the iconic RS
package. It also has aggressive upgrades for a Super Sport,
including the front chin spoiler, stack inserts in the hood, proper
SS badging, and full-width rear spoiler. And you can't miss the
white SS hockey stick stripes that tastefully contrast the black.
It's all finished off with 15-inch polished American Racing Torq
Thrust wheels that blend this car's polish and aggression so
nicely.
The black with white accenting theme continues inside with the
houndstooth seating. It's an iconic look for the Camaro, and these
are complete and clean, right down to the buttons on the seatbacks.
So it's a nice reminder that the restoration budget was spent on
far more than just an attractive exterior. The door panels,
carpeting, headliner, dash, and more all feel fresh and correct
from a well-done investment. It's a true vintage presentation,
right down to the trunk mat. In fact, the only modern piece you'll
likely see is a well-integrated retro-style radio that now gives
you an AM/FM digital tuner with auxiliary input. The classic Chevy
three-spoke sports steering wheel feels great in your left hand,
and you know that Hurst shifter is just calling out to your right
one from the center console.
The engine bay is ready for primetime. Smooth inner walls funnel
your attention to the fresh and bold big block with polished valve
covers and matching air topper. We all love a 396 cubic-inch V8 in
a Camaro, and this one has been upgraded further with go-fast
goodies like Holley four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, and
headers that add even more power as they contribute to the rumble
of the dual exhaust. You have complete control over this monster
motor and its thunderous soundtrack with the stout Muncie
four-speed manual transmission. As you look at the undercarriage
photos, you get a reminder of how fresh this one is over every
inch. So you also know it feels solid on the road. Plus, there's
power steering, power brakes w/ discs up front, and wide BF
Goodrich T/As.
