For sale: Over $10000 less than recently appraised. 1957 Chevrolet 3100 Restomod. This truck is originally from California. The truck has been in the family since 2010. My Grandson, while in the Marines, and I was at a car show in Big Bear CA when he saw a 1957 Chevy Pickup he wanted to purchase. We had seen the same truck 2 years earlier and we figured the price to be more flexible this year. We negotiated a price, and I purchased the vehicle from the owner. (my grandson was a little short of funds, him being in the service and all, with the understanding that he would pay me back and when it came time to sell, I would get first consideration.) I drove the vehicle back to Arizona, where it has been since. He put the truck in his name after giving me a down payment. (He paid me in full shortly afterward)
A few years later and after an engine swap from a 1972 Chevelle 400, he came to the conclusion that his lifestyle (beginning a family) he could not afford the truck and sold it to me.
I purchased the truck and sent it to a professional for restoration. (Glenn Gibbons Premier Performance & Restoration)
I tore down the vehicle completely. I purchased a new Frame that had an early Camaro subframe with disc front brakes, Power steering, Corvette tilt steering column and wheel, relocated Fuel tank, GM 10 bolt 373 Positraction rear end. I sent it to be Painted locally. They painted each panel and reassembled the truck and finished painting it. I had it painted a “1966 Chevrolet Aztec Bronze.”
I installed a rebuilt 700 r4 overdrive trans, with floor mount Lokar Shifter, reinstalled the 1972 400 cubic inches with a newer HEI ignition, Ceramic Mid Length headers, Edelbrock intake and 1906 Carb, with mild cam. Reground the heads and did a complete valve job. I replaced the Radiator with a new 4 core and electric fan. I then installed Vintage AC/Heat and all new Accu Gauges and Tach. I installed an Oak wood bed stained “Merlot”. And trimmed it out with stainless steel trim and bolts. I topped it off with Chrome Rally Wheels and new B.F. Goodrich tires. Then I had aluminum exhaust and Flowmaster mufflers installed.
The interior is Italian Leather buckets with German weave carpet and floormats. (AZ Hot Rods and Upholstery)
I also installed a period correct looking but updated radio and an alarm.
This is a complete body off frame restoration. Exterior completed in 2018, and Interior in 2020.
I drive the truck around town and to car club rally’s so it’s driven and stays lubricated. It is a driver, not just a Beauty.
