this car.
Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this beautiful 1986
Mercedes Benz 560SL in excellent condition with only 109,890
original miles. It looks spectacular, runs great, and is an awesome
driver. The market on the 560SL is absolutely red hot right now and
this example is priced to sell. Low mileage and original examples
of the R107 Mercedes SL are exceptionally difficult to find and
draw a huge premium in the current market. 109,890 miles is low for
a Mercedes from this era as they are built like tanks and can
virtually run forever when properly maintained. The original
mileage is also verified not only by the condition of the car, but
also by the clear Ohio title, pictured in this ad, showing the
mileage as "Actual."
There are dozens and dozens of receipts and documents for service
and maintenance over the years. The receipts are pictured in this
ad and total over $11,000. There is also a copy of the AutoCheck
report in this ad. The report is totally clean, shows no accident
history, and verifies the low mileage.
This 560SL comes with both the soft-top and auxiliary hardtop. This
is an excellent opportunity to own a classic Mercedes that is ready
to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy
this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years
to come. This Mercedes is finished in the absolutely beautiful and
highly desirable color combination of Desert Red (540) over Light
Brown interior (274) with a Black soft-top (740). This is also the
correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on the
vehicle data card. Please peruse all of the photos, video, and
other information in this ad to get a true sense of clean and nice
this 560SL really is.
The car comes with the books and manuals, which are pictured.
Included with the car are the original owner's manual, maintenance
booklet, Service and Warranty Information booklet, along with two
convertible top wrenches, spare tire and rim, and jack, which are
all pictured below.
This Mercedes is verified as "numbers matching" meaning the engine
in the car is the correct and original unit that was installed in
the factory. It is especially rare, but this 560SL has the "vehicle
data card" from the Mercedes factory, which is pictured below. It
shows the original engine number to be "117967 12 002114." We have
checked the engine and confirmed that same engine number stamped on
the left side of the engine block. The transmission is also correct
and original with a "722313 02 718697" stamping on the main case,
pictured in this ad, which matches the number on the data card. All
of the paint and trim codes are also correct and match the vehicle
data card and the data tag by the radiator.
As a side note, this Mercedes is not a dealer auction vehicle. We
hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our classics come from
owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the
vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and
encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car
inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We
photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel
confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the
560SL, just give us a call.
Exterior
The Desert Red (540) exterior is in excellent condition. As one can
see in the photos, the paint has a brilliant gloss, deep shine, and
smooth finish. Both doors open and shut nicely; it has that solid
Mercedes touch and feels like a vault door closing. The car
exhibits great body panel fit overall. The chrome and other
bright-work look very nice. The wheels are in great shape with no
curb rash. The Goodyear tires have plenty tread left. There are no
major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the
photos. There may be some very small blemishes around that are too
tiny so show up in the photos, but nothing that is really
noticeable from about five feet away. This Mercedes has absolutely
no rust issues. As one can see in the many photos of the underside,
this 560SL is very clean underneath. We have also included specific
photos of the rockers, lower front and rear quarter panels, and
other areas on the car most prone to rust to show how nice it
looks.
Interior
The Light Brown (274) interior of the 560SL looks absolutely
fantastic. The seats are in excellent condition with no split
seams, tears, or excessive wear. The carpet looks great with no
stains, rips, or holes. All of the gauges faces are crisp and the
lenses are clear. The original door panels look wonderful with no
cracks or splits, and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The
Black (740) convertible soft-top is in good condition. The rear
windows are clear with no yellowing and are not worn in the normal
spot where the windows contact the top mechanism. The original
radio works well and most importantly the dash has never been cut
or modified fro an aftermarket installation. This car has never
been smoked in; there is no aroma of cigarettes what so ever and no
burn marks. The trunk is very clean and nicely detailed and
complete with the spare tire, and rim, jack.
The excellent condition of this interior is a huge testament to the
meticulous care and attention this Mercedes has received throughout
its life and another great verification of the low mileage.
Mechanical
This 560SL appears to be in very nice mechanical condition and it
is ready to be enjoyed. The engine starts right away every time and
idles well. It is an exceptional driver that feels great on the
road and at highway speeds. In the video one can observe the car
accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all
the gears, braking to a stoplight, and going through some curves.
Please note that it runs great, there are no strange noises or
vibrations, and the car performs quite nice overall. The brakes are
responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. There is no
blue smoke when starting or driving the car. It runs cool and does
not overheat. The gauge shows that the engine makes great oil
pressure. There is around $10,000 in receipts for maintenance and
other things to keep the car in tip top shape over the years. Also,
the engine bay is clean, nicely detailed, and correct as one can
see from the photos.
Please note in the video that all of the warning lights work
properly. They light up when the key is first turned on and then go
off when the engine is started. There are no "check engine" or
other warning lights that stay on. The horn works as do the fog
lights, headlights, brights, turn signals, interior lights,
indicators, dash gauges lights, wipers, power locks, and fan. The
a/c works and blows cold. This Mercedes has lots of power with the
5.6 liter V8 engine. Not enough can be said as to how much of a
pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the top down on a
beautiful day.
Overall Condition
Overall, this 1986 560SL is in excellent condition and is a true
bargain at our asking price. The beautiful color combination and
the excellent condition make this 560SL particularly desirable;
this car is a premium example. The market for the R107 body style
SL Mercedes is very strong right now, particularly for the 560SL's.
This Mercedes is a great value and will only appreciate over time.
Someone could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell
it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
