Vehicle Description
For a custom truck you can drive all day, look no further. This
1954 Ford F-100 Pickup has the personalization and eye appeal for
car and truck shows, but you can rack up the miles in comfort and
with peace of mind. The entire build, completed just three years
ago, has an eye toward driveability. It's been driven 3442 miles
since completion, so it's still fresh but all systems and
components are sorted out. As far as reliable drivetrains go, it's
hard to beat this one. A 350 four-bolt-main small block sends power
through a Powerglide automatic to a 9-inch Ford rear axle. This
rugged combo sees extreme severe duty in many drag racing vehicles.
A mild tune keeps the engine smooth, quiet, and dependable with
only the Spectre cold air intake for a little extra power plus the
trick look. The dual intakes bring in the maximum amount of air,
and add an exotic look to the engine room. The paint is just the
right shade of red, with a little orange tint to it. A subtle mod
is that the vent windows have been deleted. The door handles are
shaved but there are manual poppers hidden on the truck so power is
not required to open the doors. Beautifully finished oak covers the
bed floor with matching stakes on the sides. Nothing says vintage
hot rod better than Baby Moons, and with chrome wheels it's a
classic combo. For long miles, comfort is king, and this truck has
air conditioning, an AM/FM sound system with subwoofers, a handsome
and comfortable Grant GT steering wheel with wood rim (and a tilt
column). There's even a center console with cupholders. There's no
roughing it in this one, as power windows, locks, cloth bucket
seats, cruise control, and even remote start are all part of the
package. One fun item comes as an unexpected surprise. Would you
believe a Line Lock? In case you're not familiar with this little
device, it's purpose is to hold a vehicle still on the starting
line at the dragstrip while you bring the revs up. With it, you can
lock the front brakes, leaving the rear wheels free to spin. This
opens up a lot of possibilities as you can imagine. Definitely a
fun build, with classic style, custom mods, and a very liveable
power team. This 1954 Ford F-100 Pickup is ready for fun.
