1966 FORD F-100 RANGER
Car History
We have a 1966 Ford F100 Ranger Pickup Truck here at Adventure
Classics with a two-tone Rangoon Red & Wimbledon White exterior and
sports the 352 cubic inch engine with the automatic
transmission.
With its glossy red paint, two-tone interior, and that large V8
under the hood, this 1966 Ford F-100 Ranger is the kind of classic
that is priced right.
Engine & Drivetrain
The V8 logo on the hood is a dead giveaway that this Ranger has
plenty of power. And it does with its optional and what we believe
original 352 cubic-inch V8 engine; the factory horsepower rating of
208 sitting in a clean, painted, and detailed engine bay.
This Y-code motor was the largest offered by Ford that year and
ours looks as fresh as it did in 1966 with the engine block and
valve covers painted the correct shade of Ford Blue, the factory
black air cleaner, Power Steering, Power Brakes, original dealer
installed air conditioning, factory cast iron exhaust manifolds,
and is backed by the 3-speed Cruise-O-Matic transmission.
Interior
Our truck has the Ranger Trim Package that was optional and had to
be ordered in addition to the Custom Cab option. The package in
ours has twin front red bucket seats and a console in between, red
carpeting, and a covering behind the seats designed to conceal the
old-style, in-cab gas tank.
The interior has a dash with all the correct factory gauges
including a sweeping needle speedometer, Fuel, Oil Pressure,
Temperature, and Alternator gauges, and a two-knob AM Radio is
mounted in the middle of the dashboard.
Everything in it form that dash, red factory steering wheel, door
panels, headliner and more is restored to Factory Specifications
and provides the perfect vintage atmosphere.
Exterior
This 1966 Ford F100 Ranger features a new Rangoon Red/Wimbledon
White color scheme with a few nicks and patina, but looks very nice
with its chrome bumpers, sleek flair side fenders, full-length
white trim strip and hood, and the white painted Ford lettering on
the tailgate
Ford's twin I-beam front suspension, combined with the red paint in
the bed, thin white sidewall tires and the factory wheel covers
make this a period correct classic F100.
Conclusion
We love the original color scheme of Rangoon Red and Wimbledon
White paint over a red interior of the 1966 Ford F100 Ranger Pickup
Truck we have at Adventure Classics, and so will you.
Vintage pickups are hot classics now and this stylish F-100 is well
within any budget.
