...glorious overkill for people who like their performance served
in size XL - Car and Driver; 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT
Review-June, 2013 There was once a time when finding the
combination of SUV space and towing prowess, every possible luxury
appointment inside and out, visual design excellence, and, not
least of all, blistering performance, in a single vehicle was, in a
word, impossible. Now is not that time. We live in an age when
multiple brands attempt to address these all-inclusive automotive
wishes. The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT offered here being a perfect
example. But compared to more expensive SUVs from Porsche, BMW, and
Mercedes, Car & Driver weighed in with their assessment noting:
...the Jeep is the wise choice. Offered here in Brilliant Black
Crystal Pearl paint over optional Sepia Laguna leather, and powered
by a 470-horsepower 6.4-liter Hemi V8, this 2014 Jeep Grand
Cherokee SRT reinforces that judgment on every score. And more: Car
& Driver on performance... Yet shockingly for such a big and heavy
vehicle, you do get some impressive numbers. Next to the T-bar
shifter of the new-for-2014 eight-speed automatic resides a simple
button that allows for launch-control starts. When engaged, the SRT
knocks out a 4.6-second run to 60 mph. This was BMW M5 territory
not that long ago. ... and handling... Making 0.88 g around the
skidpad, the 295/45 Pirelli P Zeros (an $895 option) return grip on
par with that of most German sports sedans. ... and not least of
all, build quality... The basic Grand Cherokee's sophistication
shines through all the go-fast gloss. That means a tight and
rattle-free structure and a well-executed interior that puts the
controls and display screens in short reach. To all of that, we'd
add that the interior Sepia color choice for leather seats and door
upholstery is both rare and stunning. The real-carbon-fiber accents
are exceptional. And the rear-seat entertainment screens are just
plain fun. Taken from virtually every angle, the more than 175
photographs available at the GarageKeptMotors.com website capture
the near show-quality presentation of this Grand Cherokee SRT. Its
remarkable condition is underscored by a drama-free Carfax; it
documents solid regular-maintenance history and no major-component
issues whatsoever. A walk-around-and-startup video adds a taste of
the engine note. Records also include oil analysis taken at every
oil change, as well as other detailed documentation including the
window sticker (shown among the photographs as well) which also
lists every option and feature on the vehicle and specifies its
factory-suggested $75,840 list price. A second set of wheels and
tires is also included. Personal inspections at our Grand Rapids,
Michigan showroom are always welcome and encouraged, by
appointment. Buy the best-condition one you can find is
time-tested, proven-excellent advice when you're searching for a
pre-owned vehicle. This is never more important than when
considering a high-value selection. This Grand Cherokee SRT meets
the most demanding best-condition assessment in dramatic fashion.
