The 1985 Ferrari 328 was the swansong for the transverse V-8 engine
that had begun life in the 308 GT4 Dino. Its Fioravanti lines are
as popular today as they were when it was first unveiled at the
Frankfurt Motorshow and its performance is still relevant amongst
modern machinery; the Tipo F119 3.2-litre V-8 engine producing a
healthy 270 bhp and capable of a top speed nudging 170 mph and a
sprint to 60 mph in just 5.5 seconds.
This 1987 example is notable for being a pre-ABS car and therefore
outfitted with the more desirable concave five-spoke alloy wheels.
It boasts the desirable classic specification of Rosso Corsa with
Nero leather interior with Rosso carpeting and it presents in very
good condition throughout.
According to the accompanying service book, it is believed to have
been delivered new to its native Italy, as early servicing is shown
at Radicci Automobili, the official Ferrari dealer in Ancona,
Italy. The car appears to have spent the majority of its life in
that region of Italy, as it received a service in October 2016 at
Radicci Automobili at 16,139 km. Subsequently, it was acquired by
the consignor and exported to the U.K. The last recorded belt
change was in July of 2018 at Keys Motorsport of Silverstone, and
an annual service was carried out by H.R. Owen in November
2019.
With its stunning looks, unquestionable pedigree and reputation for
usability, the 328 GTB is as desirable for a collector as it is for
someone looking for a weekend toy. This well cared for example is
sure to please.
