Vehicle Description
When you want a cool classic pickup that not only has an awesome
vintage appearance, but also is still ready for heavy duty work,
and had the same owner for 33 years, then it's time to step up to
this 1986 Chevrolet Silverado 3/4 ton K20 long bed 4x4 Camper
Special.
The full name on this pickup is a mouthful, and that's because it
has all the features truck people want. After all, the K20
designation means you not only get the extra duty 3/4 ton rating,
but also four-wheel drive. And you can tell this one is still ready
to work today with great features like long bed with thick rubber
bed mat and a Class III tow hitch with wiring plug. But it's not
the practical side that really has you attracted to this one. What
really grabs your eye is the factory-correct Bright Red and Steel
Gray two-tone. It has an exceptionally bold look, and the details
are even nice with the Silverado's premium trim and pinstriping
providing the dividing lines for the colors. In fact, speaking of
details, you'll really enjoy the little things on this truck that
most others lose over the years, like the hood ornament and hub
caps. The reason why this is all preserved and presented so nicely
because you have a low-mileage machine (averaging under 2,400 miles
annually) that has been cared for by the same owner for almost its
entire life so far.
The interior is exceptionally stock, clean, and a great place to
spend some time. You get a comfy velour bench seat, factory AM/FM
stereo, power locks, and power windows. Not only does the full
instrument package warp around the driver for convenience, but also
you have a tilt steering column to get a great view of it all. As a
Camper Special, this also was given some great features for the
long haul, like cruise control and dual fuel tanks. Plus,
cold-blowing air conditioning is great for trips near or far.
Under the hood is an exceptionally stock and clean look. Everything
from the hoses to the brake booster has the unmistakable look of
both time and money investing in keeping everything in top
condition. The 350 cubic-inch V8 has a partial VIN match, and the
decals even still look nice. But if you look closely, there is an
upgrade to an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor to let this motor
inhale deeper. The V8 fires up nicely and runs like a machine that
have been given the correct long-term care. The two-speed 4x4
transfer case and the K20's extra beefy suspension components
remind you it can be a workhorse. But for those days when you just
want to drive a nice and easy classic, you'll really appreciate the
TH400 three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and power
brakes w/discs up front.
Complete with owner's manual, this is the true classic that retains
its true usability. So when you want distinction and versatility,
