Vehicle Description
How do you describe what Dale Earnhardt meant - and still means -
to NASCAR fans everywhere? The legacy of the 7-time NASCAR Champion
remains strong today. He had it all, he was a consistent winner, he
had a charismatic charm but yet a bad-boy image, and to top it off,
the perfect nickname. The Intimidator. So, by the time 2001 came
around, his black #3 race car had become a legend itself. Dale had
a long and successful partnership with Chevrolet, and the carmaker
wasted no time in releasing a tribute vehicle. The 2002 Monte Carlo
SS High Sport presented here is all-original and has been driven
just 17,020 miles by its 3 very meticulous owners. One of just
3,333 built, it showcases many important trademarks and logos such
as RCR Richard Childress Racing, The Intimidator, the famous #3
logo itself, and a reproduction of Dale Earnhardt's signature front
and center on the speedometer as a constant reminder of the man and
that you are driving a special car. As an exclusive bonus, this
superb example proudly wears the personal signature of Richard
Childress on the dash. A smooth 3.8 liter V6 engine provides the
power along with a 4-speed electronic automatic transmission. The
engine still wears the original 3800 Series II engine cover
(significant because many have been lost over the years). The 2002
Monte Carlo SS itself is an excellent choice as a sporty car you
can drive and enjoy as much as you wish. From the sunroof down to
the diamond cut aluminum wheels, it's well equipped with the
comfort and convenience options you would expect in a new car. Such
niceties as dual zone climate control, power windows and locks,
keyless entry, leather bucket seats and a leather wrapped tilt
wheel, plus a six speaker sound system with satellite radio are all
part of the package. Four-wheel ABS disc brakes, driver's side
airbag, and traction control offer safety and peace of mind as
well. The magnificent example you see here is outstanding due to
its presentation and its equipment. The Monte Carlo SS Group (see
Highlights), power sunroof, leather bucket seats, upgraded sound
system, power passenger seat, heated front seats, and engine block
heater were all extra cost options over and above the Dale
Earnhardt signature package. The black Monte Carlo SS carried the
banner high for NASCAR and for Chevrolet for many years. This low
mileage 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Dale Earnhardt Signature
Edition has been in the same garage since 2006, it comes with an
outstanding AutoCheck report, the original owner's packet with
owner's manual, and to document this historically significant car,
it comes with a laminated window sticker listing all the features
and options.
