According to the Oxford Dictionary, an Epilogue is a section or
speech at the end of a book or play that serves as a comment on, or
a conclusion to what happened. The Epilogue Edition is a fitting
name to represent the end of the line for such an iconic world car
like the Beetle. This car is one of 900 made before the original
Beetle's production was ceased. All epilogue Edition Beetles were
convertibles that were finished in a triple black color scheme. Not
necessarily a happy, bright color scheme for such an easily
recognizable car but fitting as the end of production was looming.
Although the car is triple black, and represents the end of the
line for the original Beetle, this is an awesome collector Beetle
that is ready to be enjoyed. The exterior of the car is finished as
it would have been from the factory, all the correct moldings,
lights, and trim are there. The convertible top is in very nice
condition The condition of the body itself is very good - a few
spots of peeling paint can be seen in our pictures on the bottom
sides of the doors and on the lower edge of the engine cover. Other
than those spots of paint imperfection, the body is solid and so
are the pans. The interior has a little bit of a higher class feel
than most other Beetles thanks to wood grain trim on the dashboard.
The wood grain trim brightens up the interior which features later
style Beetle seats with built in headrests. The interior is in
great condition throughout. All upholstery shows well, trim and
switches are all in place, and the dashboard is in great condition.
At the rear of the car is a Fuel Injected 1600cc Flat-4 mated to a
4-speed manual. A nice stack of paperwork comes with this Beetle,
documenting its service history. Maintenance receipts include
regular maintenance items such as; spark plugs, brake maintenance,
oil changes, and new tires. Receipts from the purchase of small
trim pieces and accessories are also included and a receipt for
Ziebart Rustproofing is included. Despite the somewhat sad name of
this Beetle's special edition name, this car is a great collector
car that is well documented and in great condition. This Beetle
doesn't have to be the Epilogue to your car collection, but could
be a nice prelude. Be sure to check out all the photos and video on
