Launched to instant acclaim at the New York Worlds Fair on April
17, 1964, Ford Motor Companys sporty new Mustang created an
overnight sensation with the most successful new-car introduction
of all time. At one stroke, Ford created the pony car market
segment and inspired competitors from every American manufacturer.
Offered in Coupe, 2+2 Fastback and convertible body styles, the
first-generation Mustang remains a true icon and collector favorite
today. .Combining the best original elements with tasteful updates
for a great driving experience, this 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible
is an original A-Code car powered by Fords 225 HP 289 CI V-8 engine
mated to an automatic transmission. Built in California, it was
also delivered new there, with subsequent owners understood to have
resided in Texas and Florida before acquisition by the current
owner in 2006. An outstanding restoration included a handsome
Burgundy paint finish over a restored black interior featuring
supportively bolstered bucket seats. Mechanical upgrades include a
coil-over front suspension and installation of a Borgeson steering
rack and tilt column with power assist, plus power brakes with
discs up front. Underhood, the Mustang is equipped with a Monte
Carlo bar, plus a COBRA aluminum air cleaner and matching valve
covers. Interior appointments include a beautiful wood-rimmed
steering wheel, custom console with twin cup holders, and modern
stereo head unit driving midrange speakers and a subwoofer. Modern
headlights and front and rear seat belts enhance safety. In
addition to an aftermarket toolkit, the Mustang also includes a
roadside jack, top-boot cover, and car cover, plus numerous spare
parts. Interestingly, the Mustangs engine retains the original
factory-installed California emissions equipment. Riding on
retro-style American Torq-Thrust wheels, this wonderful classic
Mustang benefits from a comprehensive review and detailing
performed by us at The Last Detail, ensuring readiness for spring
