Up for sale is a one Dallas, Texas family owned, 1960 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia.
The original 1.2 liter 36 horsepower air cooled flat four cylinder engine has recently been brought back to life after many years of sitting dormant. The brakes and steering were completely overhauled and the car now runs and drives very well. It starts easily and idles evenly. The transmission shifts smoothly through all forward gears and into reverse without grinding. The engine was not rebuilt and a few drips of oil are present after driving. Compression is good and the car is deemed safe and reliable.
The original 6-volt system and generator are present. Most everything except the clock and courtesy lamps are working.
The car has been repainted and the seats reupholstered in the past. There are a areas of rust in the rockers and floor, but nothing of structural concern. Otherwise it is unrestored. Chrome and brightwork is in very nice shape. Glass is in good condition too. Windows open and close as they should. The car is in need of new weatherstripping through out.
This is a survivor class car that is charmingly original.
