There are dozens of reasons for the overwhelming success of the
Ford Mustang since 1964. Perhaps at the top of the list is value,
or what car guys like to call "bang for the buck." This fast and
good looking 2007 Mustang Fastback is a perfect example. It comes
galloping into town with an estimated 500 horses on tap from its
4.6L modular V8. There's no secret here, it's just good sound hot
rodding, starting with a Vortech V3si supercharger. Intercooling
allows a safe 10 psi of boost to escort the mixture into the hungry
cylinders. To make sure they have enough, there's a Kenne Bell
Boost-a-Pump with 42 pound Bosch injectors. Spent gases exit
through FMS long tube headers and a custom exhaust system with T500
mufflers and a custom H-pipe with O2 sensors. Everything
coordinates through a Brenspeed tune. An SCT hand programmer comes
with the car for you to make your own adjustments. American Muscle
push button start adds a touch of modern convenience. A Tremec
5-speed manual gives you full control over all the power. A name
that was already establishing itself as a legend when the Mustang
was introduced is Hurst. Their short-throw shifter is the perfect
choice in this application. Functions are well monitored with an
Autometer Phantom boost/vac gauge, an Aeroforce scan gauge, with
gauges installed in the Roush vent pods. Going fast is only fun
when you're in control. To that end, the suspension features FMS
lowering springs, lower control arms, and panhard bar. New brakes
were installed at the 30,000 mile mark. They are still fresh, as
the car has logged only 40,000 total miles. Of course, the Mustang
is famous for its looks too. This one rocks a rare paint color,
Alloy Clearcoat Metallic. It gives the car the right attitude,
along with 10th Anniversary wheels and Nitto tires. The rears are
275/40ZR18 NT05s which are essentially drag radials. So there you
have it. For an extra dash of Mustang mojo, there's a custom grille
with Eleanor center fog lights, and American Muscle Mach 1 quarter
window louvers. Another automotive concept with nearly universal
