Like most FJ40's, this truck was delivered new and immediately put to work. The owner of a historic coffee plantation in Costa Rica used it to inspect his crops and check up on workers. He even utilized it as family transport to go back and forth to San Jose on weekends.
Beginning in early 2017, it was retired from working life and began a rigorous 10-month restoration. The FJ was completely disassembled down to the frame and nut-and-bolt restored to like new condition. To correct any problem areas of the body, corroded regions were fixed using only new steel including an all new bed, floor pans and fenders. The rare Toyota Cadet Blue paint was applied on bare metal with proper layering of wash primer, base primer, polish and two coats of Matrix coating for the final layer. The electrical system received a refresh with new wiring and new electrical parts including coil, plugs, wires, relays, starter, alternator, regulator and instrument cluster. Both the engine and drivetrain were given professional refurbishments in a laboratory and new leaf springs, shocks, wheels and tires were installed. Inside, gorgeous tan leather upholstery adorns the seating areas alongside a fresh contrasting fabric soft top and door skins. Items supplied with vehicle include complete replica tool bag and tools, jack and inspection trouble light. Appearing in fantastic restored condition, this is surely a classic Land Cruiser not to pass up.
