This Jaguar XKE is in very good condition and has an Opalescent Golden Sand paint finish, combined with a dark blue leather interior and a dark blue Sonnenland soft top. The 4236cc 6-cylinder engine of this Jaguar E-type is the original matching numbers engine, coupled to a manual gearbox. Furthermore, this car is equipped with air-conditioning installed in 2019, chrome wire wheels. In short, a very well cared for Jaguar E-type Series 2 Cabriolet in a beautiful color scheme.
This Is Not Your Momma's Car!
This vehicle is in great running condition. The car has been partially restored, new exterior paint a few years ago, the vehicle was sandblasted to bare metal, then painted, very minor rust on lower driver's side fender. The seats were recently newly upholstered with original factory material from England and a new rag top added.
According to the previous owner, up until my purchase on June 5th, 2019, this Jaguar E-type XKE had been maintained and kept in a garage for its entire life. The prior owner was a new car dealer and only drove the vehicle in the spring and fall, resulting in extremely low mileage. The vehicle was featured in a few older movies.
The gentleman that I purchased the automobile from, father's (owner) health was on the decline so he had to sell the vehicle due to his father's illness, as he was unable to drive it any longer (age eighty-eight). After I gained ownership of it I decided to really fine-tune it to as near perfect as I could.
So, at BenHase Restorations in Cincinnati, Ohio I added the AC unit so that I could drive it with the top down while enjoying the cool air on a hot sunny day.
BenHase Restorations replaced the front shock's bushings, Front Shocks, Steering Rack Boots and Clamps, Upper Ball Joints for a nice firm quiet ride. They also added sound deadener and heat resistant materials throughout with new carpet, Hood Struts/Shocks, Trunk Springs, Air Filter Housing Snorkel Boot, Left Rear Exhaust Resonator, Blower Motor, Upper Control Arm Bushings, Lower Upper Control Arm Bushings (Rubber for a quiet ride), Dash Switch for Rear Interior Light, Door Jamb Switches and Both Lower Door Opening Seals and the Exhaust Clamp.
Along with an upgraded flat-bottom graphite steering wheel (as seen on Jay Leno's TV Show) making it easier to get in and out of while giving it an ultra-modern appearance wrapped in a time capsule. I also intended to add a new Top Of The Line Sound System with premium speakers professionally placed so as not to take away the originality of the automobile while enjoying it in these modern times. The original Stereo and Steering wheel comes with it!
