Vehicle Description
There are quite a few reasons why we sell so many top-notch
Corvettes. For starters, the Corvette is, in many enthusiasts'
minds, the quintessential American classic. Given the marque's big
production numbers, they're pretty easy to find. And, thanks to
broad aftermarket support, they're fairly easy to build and
maintain. That said; every classic takes patience. And building a
project to the level of this supercharged Stingray can quickly fall
into a lifelong saga. That's why, increasingly, enthusiasts are
walking directly into our showroom and kicking the words "finding"
and "building" right out of the conversation. Wrapping sinister
aesthetics around a customized cockpit, a massaged drivetrain and
350 cubic inches of small block power, this roadster is all about
the phrase "quintessential American classic"!
WHAT ELSE BUT BLACK?
A two-owner gem that rolled only 50K miles before its detailed
restoration, this impressive Vette reflects rich black two-stage
paint under a tailored Al Knoch Stayfast cloth top. That body-off
rebuild was an eight-year affair that stripped the car's no-hit
body absolutely bare, and fostered a complete refurbishing of its
convertible top frame. And today, this Chevy rolls as a fresh,
500-mile land rocket that's been carefully massaged all the way
down to its nuts and bolts. At the front of this drop-top, a
tasteful chin spoiler parallels a stylish chrome bumper, which
traces chrome-trimmed grilles that are finished with fresh marker
lamps. At the sides of that spoiler, a "Stingray" branded profile
seats polished door handles and a polished driver's mirror between
ornate fender louvers, polished heat shields and a factory antenna.
At the top of that fuselage, legendary cross-flags cage fresh glass
that's sealed in polished stainless. And at the back of the car, a
"CORVETTE" branded valance hangs dual-mode taillights above more
chrome bumpers and a polished tag pocket.
NUMBERS-MATCHING, BUT BETTER!
Every classic has a story, and this Corvette's story goes a little
something like this: A solid sports car that, thanks to a very
precise engine build, rolled out of the restoration shop with a
supercharged EFI small block V8 which thrives on everyday pump gas!
At the top of this Vette's magic mill, a polished Paxton blower
snakes its way to a 1,000cfm Accel throttle body, which fronts
Accel multi-port fuel injection. That electronic system feeds
lightweight aluminum heads that, like the 4-bolt block, were
professionally worked by Headmasters Machine Shop of Charleston,
West Virginia. Inside that block, a billet crank turns biller rods
under 7.5 to 1 Blower Pistons and a solid roller cam. Fires get lit
by hot MSD ignition, which sequences sparks through an MSD Blaster
2 coil, an MSD Pro-Billet distributor and loomed MSD Super
Conductor plug wires. Under those wires, polished valve covers
balance polished caps between roller rockers and a compact K&N
filter. At the front, billet pulleys spin an efficient aluminum
water pump next to a polished Powermaster alternator. In front of
those ancillaries, a thick Be Cool radiator makes excellent use of
large cooling fans. Exhaust duties are handled by coated Hedman
Hedders. And top-notch details include niceties like braided fluid
lines, a stainless dipstick, a liquid-filled fuel pressure gauge
and an auxiliary electric vacuum pump.
PUTTING THE "SPORTS" IN SPORTS CAR
Bottom-side, a spry Richmond 5-speed makes excellent use of a
billet flywheel and a tough Centerforce clutch. Opposite that
clutch, a powder-coated driveshaft spins a posi-traction rear end
that's finished with 3.36 gears and powder-coated axles. That
driveline pushes an independent factory chassis that, along with
the car's rust-free frame, was completely stripped and fully
powder-coated during the detailed restoration. Traditional manual
steering leads traditional Delco disc brakes. Exhaust floats from
the aforementioned headers into stainless aftermarket side-pipes,
which flow much better that factory fodder. And power meets the
pavement through timeless Chevrolet Rally wheels, which twist
255/60R15 Yokohama Avid S/T tires around polished trim rings and
low-profile center caps.
TWO DECADES OF STYLE
Between the doors you'll find a tasteful leather interior that
weaves subtle upgrades into timeless style. Fully rebuilt seats
kick off the car's Oyster color scheme, an element hand-picked from
the early '80s Corvette interior option list. In front of those
mitts, a contoured dash hangs restored factory telemetry next to
Delco AM/FM audio. A 'long' shifter fronts restored fiber optics.
And that fully interactive handle works well with a tilting wheel
and stainless-trimmed foot pedals.
With supercharged power, an athletic demeanor and unique
furnishings, this awesome Corvette features an excellent
combination of exhilarating performance and classic appeal.
Nothing's simply 'adequate' about this car. It's an exceptionally
well-done resto-mod that'll provide years of invigorating driving
and turn heads anywhere it goes. If you're looking for a stunning
Detroit super star that has the muscle to back up its handsome
looks, this clean Chevy is your next cruiser!
