Vehicle Description
Welcome to StreetDreamsTexas as we celebrate our 21st year in the
classic and muscle car business. Chevrolet's Camaro was immediately
embraced by performance enthusiasts, thanks to an extensive list of
options, when it was introduced in the autumn of 1966. Soon, a few
now legendary Chevy dealerships realized that there was a market
for Camaros with high performance engines not offered by the
factory, most notably Yenko and Baldwin. But Nickey Chevrolet of
Chicago was the first, offering the original 427 Camaro by November
of 1966. Among the support staff at Nickey was Bill Thomas, the
racer and constructor of the phenomenal Cheetah, so these were not
cobbled together hot rods, just seriously quick performance cars.
This stunning LeMans Blue 1968 Camaro is a worthy tribute to those
iconic Nickey cars. Lift the hood and you'll be greeted by 427
cubic inches of period correct (D 26 6= Apr. 26, 1966) big block
featuring a Holley carburetor, high rise aluminum intake manifold,
and a beautiful set of Doug's headers. The thunderous herd of
horsepower flows through a crisp shifting Muncie M21 4-speed manual
transmission, then back to a 12-bolt rear end with Positraction and
3.73 gears. Additional goodies include power steering, power front
disc brakes, console with gauges, beautiful paint, fresh vinyl top,
a perfectly tuned low restriction exhaust system, coilover front
shocks, and Carrera rear shocks. The foundation for this gorgeous
build must have been in good shape as all glass except the
windshield is 1968 LOF and there are date codes remaining on seat
belts. This is a fast, tight, melodious attention getter that is
outstanding at converting rubber into smoke. 'Get out of jail free'
card not included! Street Dreams (830-997-1950) is a full service
dealership that can assist with worldwide delivery, insurance, and
financing options.
