Vehicle Description
1967 Pontiac Firebird Convertible - Very Early Production, Car #140
- Originally Owned by Pontiac Division - 455ci V8 w/4 Speed Manual
- PHS Docs - Lots of Documentation - (Please note: If you happen to

it's possible that only some of our many photographs of this car
are presented due to website limitations. To be sure you access all
the photographs, please go to our main website: Garage Kept
Motors.) Here is a classic car from the very beginning of the era
of the Firebird. This is an early production Firebird, and although
it is not equipped exactly as it left the factory this is a very
nice car with some cool upgrades, and lots of documentation. This
Firebird was actually the 140th vehicle to roll off the production
line, and with such a low production number, it could've been a car
produced on the first day of production. This car is one of 9,229
326ci V8 equipped Firebirds that rolled off the line for the '67
Model year. PHS Documentation shows that the car was originally
delivered to and owned by Pontiac Motor Division. Inside the car,
the interior is finished in the correct factory color of black.
(Code 259) Bucket seats finished in vinyl, wood trim on the
dashboard, Hurst shifter, and wood shift knob are a few highlights
of the interior. The exterior shows very well on the car thanks to
a recent repaint in the original color of Cameo Ivory (code: C).
Exterior trim, bumpers, and lights are all in great condition. Our
favorite part of the exterior is the hood tach - it is something
that is not noticeable at first glance, but is definitely a cool
retro feature. The hood tach was a factory option even on the early
Firebirds. This Firebird originally rolled off the factory floor
equipped with a 326ci V8 and a 3-speed column shift manual
transmission. This car is now powered by a 455ci V8 mated to a
Muncie M20 4 speed manual transmission. A small bump in
displacement which also means a bump in horsepower. A 4BBL
carburetor, Edelbrock Intake Manifold, polished valve covers, and
fully painted block and heads are highlights of the engine. The
engine bay is tidy, and the 455 HO decal on the air cleaner is the
icing on the cake. This early production Firebird definitely has a
cool factor to it thanks to the hood mounted tach, a 455ci V8 w/4
Speed, and a recent repaint. The early production number is an
added bonus. Be sure to check out all the photos and video on our
