Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa Florida is proud to present this
highly desirable 1940 Ford Deluxe Convertible. This is an original,
steel body and fender car with a bag of money thrown at it. From
the eye-popping, Chrome Yellow PPG paint to the Fatman Frame
underneath, nothing was left to chance! These old Fords are
considered classic for their round clean body lines and that
venerable flathead V8. Although the owner loved the 40s lines, he
had a need for speed when it came to the motivation. Under the hood
is a rebuilt, fuel injected, LT-1 350 Chevy V8, spinning a 700R4
transmission, followed up with a 3:70 rear end. This thing will
snap your neck back with authority. The engine is monitored by a
Street and Performance Multi-Port EFI. This allows for rock solid
reliability and respectable fuel economy and the motor is docile
enough to spin those desirable "comfort" focused accessories
without breaking a sweat. This 40 Ford makes life easy with Vintage
Air AC and Heat, a Mustang II rack with power steering, leather
wrapped buckets along with a full custom leather-wrapped interior!
The interior is finished in very complimentary ultra-tan leather,
with gold bezel wrapped gauges and wood accents abound. As if
riding in luxury and style isn't enough; this 40 Ford Deluxe takes
the ride and handling into the 21st century as well. It rides on
polished Carrera coil-overs at all four corners and up front the
old beam axle was ditched in favor of road holding - polished -
upper and lower A-Arms. Just about everything on this 1940 Ford was
customized, upgraded or enhanced. There are so many new parts -
except for the body and fenders - it may as well be ALL NEW. This
car is a fantastic head turner that you can take to shows and
cruise around with pride! Call us today to make this beauty yours!
