Possibly the best documented Boss 302 in the country. 61,538 actual
miles, #s match throughout. There is a binder filled with docs-
pictures when the car was new, owner history and correspondence,
Marti Report, 2 build sheets, window sticker. , The 1st owner
retired it in 1974, owned it until 2005. It has been collector
owned since. All the codes are listed and explained. Honestly I'm a
bit overwhelmed looking at all this documentation. The previous
owner even created a spreadsheet summarizing it's history, features
and codes to make it a little easier.
EXTERIOR: Repainted once in 1980 and it still looks great! Original
metal, original Grabber blue. We have pics of it sanded down and
being repainted. Body was excellent, repainted because of chips and
scratches. The panels fit real nice, no rust or bubbles. The flat
black was correctly painted on the hood and trunk. Has correct
black Boss stripes. Jambs are very nice, weatherstrips are very
good. Has original front fenders with the rolled lip for 15 inch
wheels. Original wheels have reproduction Polyglas GT tires. The
original shaker hood pokes through the hood, has correct spoilers
and louvers. All the trim, moldings, grill look very good. Has
original glass including windshield.
INTERIOR: Very desirable white deluxe interior. Very well cared
for, mostly original condition. The dash pad is mint, the radio
bezel, heater control panel and instruments are excellent. Steering
wheel is not cracked, it does have a vintage Sun tachometer on the
column. The upholstery is still very good. It has the factory fold
down sport seat. In back all the white side trim is excellent. The
headliner and visors are excellent. The original deluxe door panels
were professionally restored with original Ford vinyl. All the
interior lights work. Carpet is excellent, has embroidered floor
mats.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has it's original VIN number matching Boss
302 motor and all of it's proper components. Numbers match
alternator, distributor, carburetor, exhaust manifolds, balancer,
intake. It has the original smog equipment, even the heat riser
tube from the exhaust manifold up to the snorkel. In 2007 Boss Cars
detailed the engine compartment in all the correct finishes and
with all the bits and pieces. Has correct spark plug wires, rev
limiter and proper decals. Autolite battery topper, hoses, clamps,
washer bottle. Original radiator. Very desirable features include
ram air shaker hood, power steering and brakes.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Has space saver spare, jack and felt protector.
Because it has the fold down seat the door opens into the interior.
It is the original metal and paint.
UNDERSIDE: Clean and authentic. Date coded, N.O.S. Autolite
starter. Vin # matching 4-speed with original tag. New driveshaft
with original yokes, has assembly line markings duplicated.
Original 3.50 traction lock rear end with rebuilt carrier. New
correct exhaust system with Ford mufflers. No rust, original metal.
The front end components all look good. Part of the Boss package
was quick ratio steering, h.d. suspension, staggered shocks and
disc brakes in front.
This is as honest as they come with no skeletons. Highly desirable
features and colors. If you appreciate documentation and
authenticity, this is your car. Rare to find in such a desirable
muscle car. Investment grade car you can enjoy!
