Vehicle Description
This 1981 GMC Sierra Grande (K20) 3/4 Ton 4x4 Pickup is a very nice
truck that came from Montana. This truck was selectively restored
by the previous owner who has owned it for the last 25 years or so.
This vehicle was his pride and joy and the truck sat for quite
awhile before he purchased it and decided to redo it in 1997. He
only put around 10,000 miles on the truck after it was restored and
kept it stored indoors when not using. This was his pride and joy!
The body is in excellent shape. It is a very straight and has a
pretty slick paint job on it that still looks excellent! The
underside is nice and clean with no rot that we could find and the
body panels are straight and show no signs of bondo or patches.
When the truck was restored he added a custom headache rack and
toolbox and had them painted to match the truck. Very sharp rig!
The interior is also very clean and very nice. It is mostly
original from what we can tell, which also verifies the low
mileage, and the original dash and dash pad are wonderful.
Everything on this truck was working when we tested it including
the original quartz clock! When this truck was restored he used his
extra clean 2WD Body, had it painted, and put it on the 4WD
truck.
Mechanically this truck is a beast and in amazing condition. It
runs and drives excellent and has a ton of power. When the previous
owner restored this truck he repowered it with a 502 V8 HO engine.
He stated the engine only had around 10,000 miles on it when
installed so it now has around 20,000 miles. The HP is claimed to
440 with 515 Foot Pounds of Torque. The truck has ceramic coated
headers with dual exhaust and it sounds great! This engine is
strong and runs fantastic! The transmission is the rock solid Turbo
400 Automatic and it shifts great. It has the 14 Bolt Corporate
Rear End and a 10 Bolt front End. He also added a nice set of
Aluminum Slot Wheels to the truck. Overall this is a great looking
and great driving truck for someone.
