Vehicle Description
2017 Mustang GT Premium California Special Convertible This awesome
ride is a Premium California Special that is Whipple Supercharged
and put 608 RWHP to the pavement. Just 10,021 miles on this beauty
and it is pristine inside and out. A one-owner car that is just
like new. Besides the Whipple Supercharger, it has a great sounding
Roush Axle-Back Exhaust, a short-throw shifter, large touch screen
shaker stereo, and an all leather interior. In 1968 the residents
of California, which had a car culture like no other, were buying
Mustangs left and right. They made up a whopping 20% of all
Mustangs sold in the country and helped to make the car a
resounding success. Lee Grey, a Southern California Ford district
sales manager had the bright idea of creating a special edition on
the back of the impressive West Coast sales. Ford loved the idea.
Based on Carroll Shelby's "Little Red" '67 hardtop prototype, it
was the regional edition to end all regional editions. Packing a
supercharged 427 cubic inch V8, automatic transmission, and a black
vinyl roof, it was a powerhouse. The California Special trim
package has remained that way ever since. Almost 40 years would
pass before it would return (the Blue Oval added a limited
production factory GT/CS to the line-up in 2007 as a tribute to the
original) and then it disappeared again only to come back in 2013
and again in 2017. 5.0 Coyote Premium GT California Special Whipple
