Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this beautiful 1987
Mercedes Benz 560SL in excellent condition with only 73,130
original miles. It looks spectacular, runs great, and is an awesome
driver. The market on the 560SL is absolutely red hot right now and
this example is priced to sell. Low mileage and original examples
of the R107 Mercedes SL are exceptionally difficult to find and
draw a huge premium in the current market. 73,000 miles is low for
a Mercedes from this era as they are built like tanks and can
virtually run forever when properly maintained. The low original
mileage is also verified not only by the condition of the car, but
also by the clear Ohio title, showing the mileage as "Actual."
There is also a copy of the AutoCheck report in this ad. The report
is totally clean, shows no accident history, and verifies the low
mileage.
This Mercedes is verified as "numbers matching" meaning both the
engine and the transmission in the car are the correct and original
units that were installed in the factory. It is especially rare,
but this 560SL has the "vehicle data card" from the Mercedes
factory, which is pictured in this ad. It shows the original engine
number to be "117967 12 026466." We have checked the engine and
confirmed that same engine number stamped on the left side of the
engine block. The vehicle data card also shows the original
transmission number to be "722313 02 985476." We have checked the
transmission and confirmed that same number is stamped on the main
case of the transmission and pictured. There is also a sticker on
the main case of the transmission, pictured in the ad, showing the
correct corresponding VIN. All of the paint, interior, and
convertible top codes are also correct and match the vehicle data
card and the data tag by the radiator.
This 560SL comes with both the soft-top and auxiliary hardtop. This
is an excellent opportunity to own a classic Mercedes that is ready
to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy
this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years
to come. This Mercedes is finished in the absolutely beautiful and
highly desirable color combination of Arctic White (147) over Royal
Blue interior (272) with a Dark Blue soft-top (744). This is also
the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on
the vehicle data card. Please peruse all of the photos, video, and
other information in this ad to get a true sense of clean and nice
this 560SL really is.
The car comes with the books and manuals, which are pictured.
Included with the car are the original owner's manual, maintenance
booklet, Service and Warranty Information booklet, along with two
convertible top wrenches, spare tire and rim, and jack, which are
all pictured below.
As a side note, this Mercedes is not a dealer auction vehicle. We
hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our classics come from
owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the
vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and
encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car
inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We
photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel
confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the
560SL, just give us a call.
Exterior
The Arctic White (147) exterior is in excellent condition. As one
can see in the photos, the paint has a brilliant gloss, deep shine,
and smooth finish. Both doors open and shut nicely; it has that
solid Mercedes touch and feels like a vault door closing. The
wheels are in nice shape with no curb rash. The Michelin tires have
plenty about 95% tread left and are correctly sized 205/65R15.
There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally
excluded from the photos. This Mercedes has absolutely no issues at
all. As one can see in the many photos of the underside, this 560SL
is very clean underneath. We have also included specific photos of
the rockers, lower front and rear quarter panels, and other areas
on the car most prone to rust to show how nice it looks.
Interior
The Royal Blue (272) interior of the 560SL looks absolutely
fantastic. The seats are in excellent condition with no tears,
rips, or signs of wear. The seat is not overly worn at all in the
typical spot on the driver's bolster where the driver gets in and
out. The carpet looks great with no stains, rips, or holes. All of
the gauges faces are crisp and the lenses are clear. The original
door panels look wonderful with no cracks or splits, and both door
pulls are solid and in tact. The Dark Blue (744) convertible
soft-top is in good condition. The rear windows are clear with no
yellowing and are not worn in the normal spot where the windows
contact the top mechanism. The dash is in excellent condition with
no cracks or sun fading. The car now has a very high end and very
expensive stereo system with a more modern radio that has Bluetooth
connectivity and auxiliary inputs. The entire installation is very
professional and the workmanship if top notch. Please note that the
original power antenna still works properly. This car has never
been smoked in; there is no aroma of cigarettes what so ever and no
burn marks. The trunk is very clean and nicely detailed with the
original spare tire, and rim, jack.
Interiors in convertible cars are not known to wear well over time.
The excellent condition of this interior is a huge testament to the
meticulous care and attention this Mercedes has received throughout
its life and another great verification of the low original
mileage.
Mechanical
This 560SL appears to be in great mechanical condition and it is
ready to be enjoyed. The engine starts right away every time, runs
well, and idles smooth. It is an exceptional driver that feels
great on the road and at highway speeds. In the video one can
observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph,
shifting through all the gears, braking to a stoplight, and going
through some curves. Please note that it runs great, there are no
strange noises or vibrations, and the car performs quite nice
overall. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or
the other. There is no blue smoke when starting or driving the car.
It runs cool and does not overheat. The gauge shows that the engine
makes great oil pressure. Also, the engine bay is clean, nicely
detailed, and correct as one can see from the photos.
Please note in the video the dash warning lights; they light up
when the key is first turned on and then go off when the engine is
started as they should. There are no "check engine" lights that
stay on. The horn works as do the fog lights, headlights, brights,
turn signals, interior lights, indicators, dash gauges lights,
wipers, power locks, and fan. The a/c works and is cold; the blower
works out of the defroster vents. All of the gauges work. Even the
clock keeps time and the trunk light works. This Mercedes has lots
of power with the 5.6 liter V8 engine. Not enough can be said as to
how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the
top down on a beautiful day.
Overall Condition
Overall, this 1987 560SL is in excellent condition and is a true
bargain at our asking price. This car is a premium example; it is
very original with all original body panels with the original VIN
stickers and a clean AutoCheck history with no accidents. The
