Vehicle Description
It's not just that you're looking at a rare and desirable
first-year 1987 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am GTA. It's also that this
one happens to have everything you want, like T-tops, a cool color
combo, and the ultra-cool digital dash. And this well-priced modern
classic has even been recently restored, including rebuilt
fuel-injected V8 power.
Flame Red was pretty much the color that defined these GTA cars.
After all, it gives you the boldness or a cherry-like hue, but in a
deeper and more sophisticated tone. So it's especially nice to find
an example that was given a high-quality respray of this
factory-correct color. The modern clearcoat luster really does a
terrific job of highlighting the well-creased look of this special
Pontiac. And Flame Red also does a great job of bringing out the
added style of the golden touches on the GTA badging and hallmark
crosslace alloy wheels. The total package really does have a
terrific performance look with the full body kit, vented hood, and
well-integrated rear spoiler.
They also made the right investments inside to keep this GTA
looking and feeling fresh. The GTA was the debut of the Ultima
bucket seats that have inflatable bolstering for the best in
comfort. Because this was the top-of-the-line car for Pontiac, it
comes loaded with features like power windows, power locks, power
steering, remote trunk opener, and cruise control. And because the
T-tops will make you want to share this experience with the world,
you'll be glad the air conditioning was upgraded to modern R134a to
blow nice and cold. The driver gets the three-spoke steering wheel
with the proper GTA-specific badging that looks absolutely sporty.
Beyond that is the rarely-seen full digital dash option. While the
gauges are retro-future, the AM/FM/CD stereo with USB input fits
with the dash's digital theme while offering truly modern
music.
These third-generation T/As are especially desirable for what's
under the hood. After all, we all love a classic that also includes
a fuel-injected V8. The 305 cubic-inch powerplant is believe to be
original to the car, and even better, it was given a full rebuild.
In fact, it's so fresh that it has about a year left on the
warranty. GM's 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission was a good
paring because its stout enough to handle the power and torque
while also smoothly getting you into overdrive comfort. The GTA was
the king of the streets because it received the WS6 suspension as
standard. This includes sway bars front & rear, special shock
absorbers, performance coil springs, and a limited-slip rear end.
Those upgrades made the WS6-equipped Pontiac one of the best
handing domestic sports cars of the day.
The sale come complete with the build receipts and the owner's
manual. This is a great classic Pontiac that has been given
terrific recent investments, and yet, it's still offered for an
affordable price. Don't miss this deal. Call now!
