Vehicle Description
CPR Classic is excited to offer this delightful 1989 Porsche 911
G50 Carrera Targa finished in metallic slate gray over a light gray
interior. This G50 Targa is an all-original example that has lived
a pampered life with three fastidious owners.
This G50 was delivered new in Illinois in February of 1989. Its
first owner enjoyed the car until 2002, having covered just over
30,000 miles. The car was then sold to its second owner in
Wisconsin, who kept the car until September of 2012. Subsequently,
the car was then sold to its most recent owner, a Porsche collector
in the Palm Springs area where the car joined this gentlemen's
collection of nearly 30 Porsches. Over the next eight years, the
car was driven sparingly and regularly maintained. The most recent
owner kept a ledger of every time he drove or serviced the vehicle,
which will be included in the sale along with extensive service
records.
The documentation for this G50 is excellent. Service records date
back to 1996 and are very comprehensive to include mechanical
services, cosmetic reconditioning invoices, previous sales
agreements, multiple registrations, and the ledger, as mentioned
above, that the most recent owner kept on the car.
Note: the car is photographed with an incorrect MOMO shift knob,
the factory knob has since been reinstalled.
This G50 Targa was nicely optioned from the factory to include:
158 - Cassette-radio Blaupunkt Reno SQR 46
454 - Automatic speed control
490 - Sound system
494 - Amplifier
This G50 Targa is a well-kept example that has been cared for all
its life. Top-quality G50 cars are becoming difficult to find in
today's market, with targas being of the rarest. If you are looking
for a highly maintained G50 Carrera in an excellent color
combination, this is a must consider Porsche.
