Now available at the St. Louis Car Museum is a 1988 Chevrolet
Corvette that has been family owned for nearly all its life having
passed down from generation to generation. The vehicle sold new in
California and has only 4 recorded owners with only 72,000 miles
showing on the odometer today. In addition, this particular example
represents #47 of 2,050 35th Anniversary Editions ever built!
History of the 1988 Chevrolet Corvette:
Chevrolet's Corvette has been recognized as America's finest sports
car for many years and is one of the longest-running models in the
brands' history, coming second only to the highly recognized
Suburban. Due to a new design and production delays, the Chevy team
did not have a model to offer that year and therefore, missed their
opportunity to celebrate the 30-year anniversary in 1983. As a
result, focus was shifted to the 1988 Corvette in order to instead
celebrate a 35th Anniversary Edition. All models would be identical
in color and available in Coupe form only. In total, only 2,050
would be completed, each with special exterior badging and a
numbered anniversary identification plate on the console. In
addition, the special edition models were further distinguishable
by a white exterior finish with a matching white leather interior
and leather-wrapped steering wheel, along with larger 17" white
allow wheels!

Offered here is a special edition, 35th Anniversary #47/2050,
Corvette Coupe that is finished in White over an all-original White
Leather interior. This classic Corvette, available in St. Louis,
MO, is powered by a L98 5.7L OHV 350ci Tuned Port Injection V8,
producing 240 horsepower & 340 lb. ft. of torque. The vehicle
features a 700R4 4-speed overdrive transmission with a 2.59:1
posi-traction rear axle ratio, allowing this Chevy to sprint to
60mph in just 5.6 seconds, proving ample performance! Options and
additional features include a Z52 Sport Handling Package,
climate-controlled air conditioning, Sport Seats with 6-way power
adjustment with adjustable lumbar and bolster control, rear defrost
with heated outside mirrors, removal blue-tinted glass roof panel,
Delco/Bose AM/FM/Cassette audio system, power
windows/locks/mirrors, and all weather floor mats!
This well preserved Corvette began life in Southern California,
specifically Ojai, California, where it would stay until 2004. The
original owner would pass it to his son in Colorado Springs, with
just 61,000 miles showing at the time. We are proud to say that the
Corvette seen here has always been serviced as needed and garage
kept since new. It remained in the family for one more generation
when the original owner's grandson would take possession in June
2014 with just under 68,000 miles on the odometer. The fourth, and
current St. Louis owner acquired the car with 69,500 miles showing
in November 2016 and has since then only added 3,000 additional
miles. Today, the odometer reads exactly 72,722 miles.
The present owner has serviced it to include new dash bulbs,
upgraded halogen headlights, and Ride-Tech shocks by Fox at all
four corners. Included in the sale of this Corvette will be owner's
manual, clean CarFax report, roof panel wrench release tool, lug
nut lock key, door sill carpet protectors, an extra steering wheel,
a brand new Retro Sound Bluetooth/MP3/USB ready radio that was
never installed, and windshield sunshade making this particular
