The colors really make this 1971 Duster 340 stand out. It is also a
factory air conditioned car with buckets and a console. This car
decodes exactly as it sits. It was born with these fantastic colors
and options right down to the stripes and chrome exhaust tips. Has
original build sheet. #s match motor and trans. 1 owner from
1997-2017. 44,628 miles was branded as actual on the title in
1997.
EXTERIOR: Outstanding fit and finish. The body is in excellent
condition. Both sides are completely straight, all the panels fit
really square and flush. I don't see any bubbles or damage of any
sort. It is repainted it's factory Tor Red color. Polished out to a
smooth and glossy finish, much better than the factory put out.
Also has the blacked out hood treatment with the bold 340 Wedge
logo. Has the duster stripes down the sides and Duster decal on the
tail panel. Also has a black vinyl top which looks new. Has sport
mirrors. Upfront the grill is restored, bumper has been rechromed.
Has the correct antenna. All the stainless trim around the windows
is polished and straight, door handles look new. In back the bumper
is rechromed, all the glass is in very nice shape and fits right.
New windshield. Door jambs have been repainted and weather strips
were replaced. Has rallye wheels with BFGoodrich tires.
INTERIOR: I think inside is the main attraction. How often do you
see an orange interior? It really looks great, especially with the
exterior. Also rare in a Duster is factory bucket seats and
console. Looking at the dash it has the factory gauge cluster, the
chrome bezels look like they're new. Nothing is cut, broken or beat
up. It still has the factory AM radio. Steering wheel is in
excellent shape, the dash pad has been replaced, new glovebox
liner. Seats are very good, door panels are excellent, carpet has
been replaced. Dome light works, the mirror, visors and headliner
are excellent. There are some wrinkles in the rear sail panels.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Has original vin # match 340 engine. These are
very spunky, desirable motors. Google the 340 hp motor, all the
talk is good. The previous owner says it's been rebuilt. Has a dual
feed Holley carb otherwise all stock including manifolds, valve
covers, air cleaner etc. It is a rare factory air conditioned car.
The a/c is not complete, it does have a rebuilt compressor. The
alternator looks new. The engine bay is real nice clean metal, all
painted glossy like the exterior. Has a Mopar radiator and correct
shroud.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Completely clean metal. The quarter panels look
like they are originals, I don't see any splices. It's all been
sprayed the exterior color. New grey plaid mat. Bottom of the trunk
lid and jamb are real glossy and has a new weatherstrip.
UNDERSIDE: Components look real good. Bottom of the motor and the
trans are clean. Starter looks new. Has a new dual exhaust system
with the chrome tips. In back the gas tank and shocks look new. Has
3.23 rear end. In front the steering components look good, has
recent shocks and swaybar bushings. Has disc brakes in front.
Bottom of the car is real solid.
This is an exciting little package. Colors, features and condition
are great. Driving this car will make you feel proud!
