At the 1988 Birmingham Motor Show, Aston Martin finally introduced
the replacement for its long-running V8 model. The new Virage
featured all-aluminium coachwork with radically different styling
and was powered by a further development of the V580 V-8 engine
configuration. Despite the introduction of the new DB7 ten years
later, the Virage Vantage remained the company's flagship model,
and the factory then began offering an upgrade program dubbed the
V600. Utilising twin Eaton M90 superchargers and upgraded cooling,
the tuned V600 engine could develop a whopping 600 hp and 600
foot-pounds of torque-nearly unmatched power capabilities for the
era. The revised engine catapulted the Virage to 60 mph in 4.2
seconds with a top speed of 200 mph. Corresponding features of the
upgrade pack included the addition of ventilated AP Racing brakes
with six-piston brake calipers, Eibach springs and Koni shock
absorbers for the suspension, a stiffer anti-roll bar, five-spoke
Dymag wheels mounted with Goodyear Eagle GSD tyres, and new V600
badging. Enthusiasts estimate as few as 81 Virage examples
ultimately received the V600 upgrade, and the potent model remains
a benchmark of the marque's late 20th-century performance
capabilities.
Finished in Orkney Gray paint and trimmed with a Charcoal leather
interior, this beautiful Virage Vantage was sold new to a German
owner who retains possession to this day. The one-owner car was
first registered in November 1998, and five months later it was
returned to the factory in Newport-Pagnell to undergo the V600
upgrade. Further modifications included adjustments to the chassis,
installation of a sport exhaust system, and the addition of a Nardi
steering wheel. In May 1999 the Aston Martin returned to the
factory for additional work that included installing a Tremec
six-speed manual gearbox and a change of the speedometer. Though
the factory reset the odometer on this occasion, the consignor
estimates the minimally used car has accrued no more than 18,000
km. Continuing to receive bespoke attention at Newport-Pagnell, the
Vantage was again modified in 2007 with new Vanquish-specification
sport seats, as well as receiving service and maintenance as
needed.
Documented with numerous service invoices and a history from the
consignor, this fabulous one-owner Virage Vantage is a fastidiously
maintained and modestly used example of the rare V600. It would
make a fantastic addition to any marque collection, ideal for
presentation at supercar displays and regional concours
d'elegance.

Auf dem Automobilsalon in Birmingham 1980 war es endlich soweit:
Aston Martin stellte den langerwarteten Nachfolger des V8 vor. Der
neue Virage hatte eine Karosserie komplett aus Aluminium und ein
radikal anderes Design als sein Vorg�nger und als Antrieb eine
Weiterentwicklung des V580 V8. Und trotz der Einf�hrung des DB7
zehn Jahre sp�ter blieb der Virage weiterhin das Flaggschiff der
Marke, als das Unternehmen eine Aufr�stung namens V600 anbot. Mit
zwei Eaton M90 Kompressoren und verbesserter K�hlung leistete
dieser getunte V600 erstaunliche 600 PS und satte 813 Nm
Drehmoment. Werte an die zu jener Zeit so gut wie niemand herankam.
Der angepasste Motor katapultierte den Virage in 4,2 Sekunden auf
96 km/h und erm�glichte eine H�chstgeschwindigkeit von 200 mph (320
km/h). Zum neuen Motorenpaket gab es auch bel�ftete 6-fach Kolben
Bremszange Scheibenbremsen mit Sechsfachstempeln von AP Racing,
Federn von Eibach und D�mpfer von Koni, verst�rkte Stabilisatoren ,
F�nfspeichenfelgen von Dymag, Eagle GSD Reifen von Goodyear und
nat�rlich eine entsprechende V600 Beschriftung. Liebhaber gehen von
nicht mehr 81 solcher auf V600-Spezifikation umger�steter Virages
aus, was dieses starke Modell zum Ma�stab der Leistungsf�higkeit im
20. Jahrhundert macht.
Dieses in Orkney Grey lackierte und mit einem Innenraum in Charcoal
Leder gebaute Virage Vantage wurde neu in Deutschland an seinen
ersten Besitzer ausgeliefert, der ihn noch heute sein Eigen nennt.
Zugelassen im November 1998, kehrte dieser Virage nur f�nf Monate
sp�ter ins Werk nach Newport Pagnell zur�ck, um auf
V600-Spezifikation umger�stet zu werden. Zu den weiteren zu dem
Zeitpunkt durchgef�hrten Modifikationen geh�ren
Fahrwerksanpassungen sowie der Einbau einer Sportabgasanlage und
eines Nardi-Lenkrads. Im Mai 1999 kehrte dieser Aston ein weiteres
Mal ins Werk zur�ck, diesmal f�r den Einbau eines
Sechsganghandschaltgetriebes von Tremec und einen neuen Tachometer.
Zwar hatte das Werk zu dem Zeitpunkt das neue Instrument auf 0
gesetzt, doch gibt der Verk�ufer eine insgesamt minimale
Laufleistung von nicht mehr als 18.000 gefahrenen Kilometern an.
Der weiterhin in Newport Pagnell gewartete Wagen erhielt 2007 neue
Sportsitze nach Vanquish-Spezifikation sowie Wartung und
Pflege.
Zu den Unterlagen dieses penibel gewarteten und nur wenig genutzten
Virage geh�ren eine umfangreiche Dokumentation mit Wartungsbelegen
und Historie. Dieser wunderbare Virage Vantage ist ein Exemplar des
sehr seltenen V600. Er w�rde eine wunderbare Erg�nzung jeder
Markensammlung darstellen, wie er sich auch hervorragend im Umfeld
moderner Supersportwagen oder bei einem Concours d'Elegance machen
