Vehicle Description
1966 SS396 Chevelle Convertible
We just acquired this ''triple black'' 1966 SS396 Chevelle
Convertible tribute from a true car guy. This retired gentleman
told me that out of all the muscle cars he's owned that this
particular Chevelle was one of his favorites. He said he got lots
of thumbs up but most of all it is just a fun car to drive !
Once we got the car into our detail shop we noticed some paint
imperfections that we could not wet sand out so we decided to treat
this car to an all new 2 stage paint job. The body was already
extremely straight, solid & clean as well as the floors, trunk and
frame so the new ''Diamond Black'' paint turned out better then
expected and is absolutely beautiful with a deep luster and show
car shine ! All the chrome, trim & weather stripping has been
replaced and looks new and the black manual convertible top wit
boot are in ''like new'' condition as well.It also has beautiful
black bucket seat with factory console interior too.
The engine is a strong running/sounding 454c.i. big block that we
were told, was was recently rebuilt for reliability/dependability
including all forged internals and to run off ''pump gas''. All i
know for sure is that she hits hard as nails and runs like a
scawled dog !!It is backed by a crisp shifting TH-350 automatic
transmission with a 3000 rpm ''street fighter'' stall converter and
a 12 bolt posi-traction rear with 3:73 gears.
F.Y.I. The previous owner told me told that he drove it to the
track last year and it ran low 12's in the 1/4 mile. Not too shabby
for a heavy convertible !!
Other features include:
Power steering
New front disc brakes
